I have a couple of Firestones...one a Special Cruiser dated about 1955 or so and another Pilot dated ??? Which tire would be period correct...Black, White, or Gum Walls??? Thanks

Not gumwalls. :)
 
Kinda depends on a few things. A paperboy bike or the average middleweight, id probably throw on blackwalls and if the bike had white painted rims, definatly blackwalls. But if the bike was more like a flashy, fully loaded deluxe bike, a good pair of fat whitewalls will add to the "creampuff factor', unless its whitewall tires on white painted rims (to me it just doesnt look right, too much white). Bottom line is what is your personal preference and what do you like. Would really have to see the bike to get a good idea of what looks good. Just... not the gumwalls unless it was made in the 80's and even then.

but they are definitely not
