Who made Monark?

As the title says...Who made Monark :?: Is there a way to search the year by the serial number :? Also, does anyone have any pics of a Monark muscle bike

Monark was a stand-alone builder until Huffy bought them out in the mid-60's. I have never seen a Monark branded muscle bike, but I imagine it there one such bike it would be a rebranded Huffy Rail or similar.

If it is a Huffy built bike the first number in the serial number is the last digit of the year- 7HXXXXXXX would be a '67 or '77. You need to look at the frame details to lock down the decade.

There was a Monark Avanti banana seat bike sold in 1963.

Actually, Huffy bought Monark in 1957. 1954 and earlier serial #s can be dated by the number. 1946-54 #s were stamped on an aluminum plate, riveted to the BB. The Monark and Silver King names were used by huffy into the mid 60s. -Adam
