After far too long of a battle, I finally succeeded. I didn't realize it, but the front axle used a proprietary thread pitch and size, somewhere between 7/16-24 and 11mm-ish. I ordered several different sizes and thread pitches, and nothing fit. So I replaced that axle with a standard 3/8"-24, but my new problem was that the bearing race on the hub was larger than any bicycle bearing cone I owned. I tell you, getting exact manufacturer specs for stuff like bearing races and cones is a freaking nightmare. But I finally cobbled together the parts and got the front sorted. While I was at it, I swapped the fork with the wrong brake mount tab with one on the correct side. Yes, I said it, the brake was backwards and I was an ......
