Wide rim question

Anyone have any experience with the Weinmann dhl 65? looking for something in a mid fat kind of rim. I really like the look of the Velocity Dually but the price pretty high on those..

I have used a Weinmann DHL80 with zero issues. Its a nice double wall rim for the money.

I have always had good experiences with Weinmann rims...
I am sure they make cheap stuff too, but if it is Weinmann and double wall you should be safe.

Agreed. I beat the hell out of some dp18's and only had them trued once in 3 years with 500 miles. I love everything double wall and wide from weinmann, alex, and SUN.

Back in "the day," winey rims would curb dent easier than araya rims. Other than that, they were as strong as anything else out there, and lighter.
Since the 80s, lots of changes, weinerman rims are tough, and seem to hold tight runout specs. on roundness and straightness.

I've been running a set of dhl65's for 4 or so years and they have held up quite well. I don't use them off road but I do,however, have a few driveway chunks that I regularly bunny hop and they have held up just fine under this beast:

I'll have to swap out my bars to the ones in the picture and remember to mount the camera. It might not be quick, but I will. My dogs probably down to her last 2 months or so(lymphoma that chemo no longer has effect on). Needless to say her and customers builds have precedent over a video for now, since I'm about 10k in vet bills and she isn't long for this world.

those look wider than I thought they would be. I thought the "65" was the width in mm (2.55") but those look close to 4"..

They are indeed the DHL 65's (65mm / approx. 2 1/2" S.A.E.). The angle and the white tires make them look large. The DHL80's have a raised strip down the center and the DHL100's have the double humps. Easiest way to tell the width at a glance.

dhl100= 100mm(4")
