Hi guys!
Back again for BO17, had so much fun and inspiration last year i decided to go at it again. It is already so hard to keep up with all the builds that are going on already, so much coolness, man....

Well my starting point is a 1947 CWC Hawthorne that i picked up last fall and it will get a gender swap, that makes it class 2 right?

It has a skiptooth chain

Really cool patina and paint work

I plan on using an Electra Daisy frame as donor for the gender swap

The idea is to do something like this and i will try to reproduce the paint. If that doesn't work out, i'll have to go bare metal (at least on the frame, don't want to lose those cool patina fenders😅).

And yes my photoshop skills are bad ... i know..
Maybe remove the old top tube and insert it back higher, more or less original-ish.
Maybe i'll slap on some whitewalls, maybe not. Maybe i will rebuild the wheels, maybe not. I'll see how it goes timewise.

Haven't really thought of a name. Maybe something like C(lassic) W(oman) C(onversion) rat, dunno🤷‍♂️.
First up is a teardown!

Names… hmmm… kinda looks like a Danny to me… but perhaps with an ‘i’… so Danni.

Or Willy… but also with an ‘i’… so Willi.

:39:

But on a more serious and intellectual note, a quick online search for Hawthorne resulted in a site about ‘Nathaniel Hawthorne’ who was “One of the most important and influential American writers of the nineteenth century”.

So if literature is your thing, perhaps inspiration from one of his titles. You can find 10 of them here…

Too bad Willy is already taken by @Karate Chicken Industries .
I did find some cool references about Nathaniel Hawthornes dad, John Hathorne, who was involved in the Salem witch trials as one of the main judges. Nathaniel added the w to his name later so he wouldn't be connected to his dad.

Started the teardown today.
