I like that leather cord better than the string or 3M film I usually use.

That cord is super nice and you can stretch it nice and tight when binding leather or cloth tape. It comes from 1/2mm up to 5mm and in about 20 colors. I'm happy with the results so far.

Life is good!!! The new rims got here and I love them. They are NOS chrome drop centers. Can't wait to get them built and on the bike!

Bottom light mount mocked up - now to devise a top strut.

I'm going to tint the lens yellow I think and maybe fab up a visor for it

Yellow tint...visor....= over the top! Nice work!

Figured out the top support for the light - I think. I'm going to get some copper rod and bend up a support that runs from the aluminum cross rod up to the springer bolt. Going to add a curl in each side for aesthetic-sake. Pic of a horrible coat hangar mock up attached.

Thoughts welcome!

Spent some quality time with the hub today. She cleaned up beautifully, is mechanically sound and shifts great. Also test fit the knock-offs on the mock up wheels - love them!!

Before you go to far with that idea. Push down on the bike and look how the springer pieces push that top bolt out. I made that mistake with an light mounting idea I had back in BO6.

Thanks for seeing that. I already "test - sprung" the fork and I'm good to go. I'm going to fab a bushing to mount the support to and potentially a sleeve to limit the spring travel to keep good tire clearance.

Love the knock offs, gotta find some of those for rebels cause.

So.... Even though my "great idea" for mounting the front light would mechanically work, without enough fab tools (lathe and mill), I have had to pick another path to prevent it from looking cobbled together.

Just making lemonade, just making lemonade...

Got it! The bracket from the fork to the light will be leather wrapped. Now on to the rear light... Lol

Ugh.... Now to clean up this mess of a garage.

Bourbon & Blue is on the ground for the first time!! She's still on the mock-up wheels and missing a few things, but on the ground is on the ground! Both lights mounted today equals a great day [emoji1360] Time for a cold one [emoji481]
