Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I know it's not a bicycle but wow, just wow.

Here is this Firebird for $900 and they say it's a 1979.

 Now apparently someone bought it but now it's a 1977 Firebird and they want $2000.

Notice the same grease & dirt spot on the fender. What looks like a piece broken off the front of the hood and also they have the same warp on the front of each hood scoop.

It would have been cool to have the money for it when the last owner had it but luck hasn't been that great.

That actually looks like fun! Lots of cool parts, including those fully adjustable bars.

My first question, "how does it wheelie?" and after that initial burst of swear words, what, why and most importantly, WHO??? Just who dreamed up such a contraption?
Somebody re-invents the bicycle to walk on.....

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

Interesting...there appears to be two different companies selling the exact same lineup of elliptical bikes, 3Gbikes and Randy Ross Steppers. Both companies have the same models in their lineup, and both credit the same guy with inventing it. Randy Ross is the son of the former owner of Ross Bicycles when they went out of business.

Do a google search for "treadmill bike" and prepare to go...   :|

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I remember seeing a set of those up for "bids" on the Price Is Right. The models came out riding them and it just looked like they were pedaling and back pedaling, so for people watching, they probably just assume people on those really don't know how to ride a bike.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I have an Alenax. It is great for exercise, but the speed shifter is odd.

The 26" rear wheel has 2 freewheels, one on -each- side, so it could be used to make a left hand drive bike.

You know, if you cut off the goofy elliptical stuff and weld in a seat tube, that frame has some cool chopper-like lines on it, ya know?
Just imagine it with a springer or some triple trees on the front, some apehangers and a re-purpose one the foot pad thingies as a banana seat....

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

Shouldn't that have some kind of fender or something in case a foot slips?

We have an elliptical machine (the stationary kind, weird that I have to disclaim that) and you typically don't slip off, if you did it would be to the back or outside, which would be more of a risk on a moving one, but a rare occurrence I'd bet.
