Just finish the wiring, hook up the brake, and maybe something on the chainguard and call this one done!

What is the verdict on the battery box under the seat, leave it as is or paint it black?

Leave it. Some contrast is not a bad thing. It looks like it's supposed to be there.

Thanks for the votes everyone! I went with the majority and left it unpainted.

Just broke out the soldering iron again and finished up the wiring:

Had to test it of course!

Brake cable and sleeve cut to length, I couldn't find my cable crimps, so I soldered the end to stop it fraying and then soldered on a spoke nipple for extra interest:

December is here......coming down to the wire guys.....watching the Finished Bikes thread....
Should not be long now! I may even end up the first Class 2 in if the other guys don't get a hurry on!
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
Thanks for the gracious admission of defeat message @kelvin hahnel! I had a fair lead on you though, and you were off work due to your hand damage, so it wasn't really fair.
Really looking forward to seeing the Kelvinator done!

Wait until next year :) is it to early to start the design? :21: Hopefully mine will have some more progress this weekend (aussie time) Will post when I get the chance

I have been trying to get a hold of the owner of 'FunCity' here locally after we went go-carting about 6 weeks ago. The entire track is lined with used tires from the V8 Supercars and I noticed there were a few spares, might be good for a future build? The attendant gave me his number, but every time I have rung he never answered, today finally he did!

He was worried that I wanted to use the tires on the street or on a car, and as he is the only person who gets them from Dunlop at the end of each season, it could come back on him, so I explained I wanted it for a pushbike... Long story short, I took Pedro in to show him, and while we were there I asked if I could get some pics with the bike...

Anyway, I now have 2 V8 Supercar tires!

A slick and a wet:

Width comparison with Pedro's little fat tire:

On looking them over when I got home, the slick has a puncture in the sidewall, and is from the current season, so it is an 18" tire not a 17".

Not sure if I can get 18" steel rims anyway, so not really an issue with the slick, will probably turn it into a coffee table or something, if I can get a rim, I am pretty sure the sidewall could be repaired with one of those 'tiptop' patches...

Looking forward to building a bike around that 280 section wet tire though!

Luke.
