Hello all! Name's Chris, I'm the owner of Cburke.Industries, a small fabrication and metal art business. I picked up this bike for free and wanted to play around with it. I'm super into rat rods, but without the money to build a car, I thought a bike would be the next best thing lol.
The only thing I need to do is order the front, but other then that I'll be making everything.
I like taking a lot of pictures as I go, hope you don't mind!
When I picked her up!

First thing was to flip the girl bar around.

Then I started cutting her up!

I cut the upper back off to flip it so I could maybe cut the seat bar to bring it down

I'll need to extend this as well

So that's all for now. I really need to order the front so I can see where the seat will sit before I weld that back piece back on. I want the back tire to sit just behind your back.
Oh and sorry for the crap cell pics, I post these to IG so I didn't break out the good camera! Maybe when it's all done!

Got my bars and grips. Should be able to order the front end this month.

I went ahead and ordered a 3 1/2 inch crank, hope I can ride it like this. I know turning will be fun but I'm ok with that!

Going to go with chrome ape hangers now and chrome pedals. I want to use a brown seat with brown grips and I didn't think that would look good with the black bars. Besides, the front is all chrome anyway.

What if you cut the bottom bracket and about 6" up the lower tube and flipped it? It would raise the pedals up and give more leg room, Unless you are a really short guy.

I'm 5'10 ish..... lol
I'll see what the 3 1/2 inch crank does first. I won't be painting it until everything had been mocked up and ready to go. I can always cut the back off again and move it down so the bike raises up a little. Don't really want to do that but whatever.

I also think I'm going to need to get a bent seat post to help with leg movement while pedaling.

none bent springer would look good , the bent springer will make hard to steer & bounce too much
your feet maybe too close to the ground when turning

I vote original forks at this stage but that might change when the bars go on.....

From where I'm sitting, the wheel base should be somewhere in between where it is with the two different forks.

But it's hard to tell by looking at a photo....

Just my 2c

:)

.... wish I would have seen this before, I would have got both!
I'll hit him up maybe next week when I get paid unless I find something local.

All the curves in the frame , rear section , and bent out front end really look good together. You should try to find a seat post that really curves back towards the rear tire I think that would look good. Just my opinion. What color will it be?
