Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

Well if you ever need stuff you could always send them to come get it from me for you. I offten have alot of stuff I don't want, I currently have alot of fenders and cruiser bars. but I have a secret stash of lots of other things, and I have alot of Raleigh sports stuff.

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

I may hit you up on that sometime... I haven't established any excess parts yet but when I do I'll let you know in case you need something. We could swap.

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

Alot of times I don't even sell or swap to me fellow bike buddys. the sight of someone else useing the stuff for great causes is a good payment, there are times where I do trade though, I prefer trading over selling

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

Ya I prefer to trade if possible too...

I was able to do a little work on the wood pieces that go between the top bars today. Have them stained and I painted the Coca-Cola logo on. My brush work is quite rusty. It's been a long time since I've seriously picked up a brush for this sort of thing.

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

This is what I accomplished today... A mock up of how the wood fits in place. As you can see my brush work on the logo isn't spectacular.

The back rack drying...

I made this box to attach to the back rack. I may put handles in it I'm not sure. I may also put the logo on the sides.

I built the box all in one shot today, put three coats of varathane on the two wood pieces and then glued them together. I got two coats of clear coat on the frame. I pulled apart the CCM bike I have listed in the Fresh Finds section. Cleaned my work area and did three loads of laundry. I have a cold now too so all that has me ready for bed and it's not even 7 o'clock.

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

I was thinking of mounting this style somewhere on the bike...

It may be on the wood sign if I can ride without hitting it. Or it may become a headbadge! I'll have to see once I actually buy one.

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

Your ideas inspire me to start my own build, i've been peering at them hubless bike builds and came up with my own design, but not sleek and fancy, a normal balloontire bike thats hubless! I like the process youve done so far.

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

Thanks man! I don't understand the hubless. I think they are very cool designs, just don't understand. :? Good luck though if you tackle the project. I'll be watching.

That's smart puting it where it won't interfere with riding, don't let it interfere with opening

One shouldn't drink and ride  Even if it is only a Coke, my luck would have me go to open a bottle and crash!

Today is assembly day! I get to finally reassemble as much as I can today. I'm still waiting on some parts. I have bearings on order and I still need to find wheels. I plan on borrowing the wheels from my girlfriends bike just to start setting up where I want everything. One more coat of clear coat on the frame and three on the back rack. Then I should have a good mock up to get pictures of tonight. Stay tuned!

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

Nice! How do you have it held on there?

Re: My Road Bike I asked you's about.

Okay so I accomplished a little more today. Here's what I got.

So I think for now I'm stuck until I can get some parts. I may attempt to build fenders and a chainguard... I have to tune up my girlfriends bike though before we do the ride on new years day.

Looking good, quite a vintage look!
I would loose those reflectors thou, and find a nice old headlight

I used a two part epoxy putty. Place some on the frame then stuck the "headbadge" on, then molded more of it around to the desired shape. I sanded then filled in with some bondo. I cut the bottle opener to be more stream lined.

Graylock- This was my RRBBO1 bike. 26" in the rear and 20" wheel upfront with extended fork.

udallcustombikes    It's like you read my mind! I was thinking the same thing for mine but I hadn't started simply because I need the wheels first. I'm not sure of how big I need to go until I have the wheels. I was planning on using rivets to hold everything together. How sturdy is that? I was thinking I may double up on mine just for stability. Good job, I like it!

Gdcast I am losing the reflectors... I was just seeing how it looked. I really want vintage looking lights. I'm keeping my eyes open while I'm out and about for anything I could use. I should see if I can find an old snowblower light... Then I can paint it. If I can't find something in chrome...

Oh yes and I went to the store where I had ordered some new bearings for my bike (or so I thought) and the guy there had no record of the order at all, the guy who took my order wasn't in so no one really knows what's going on. I'm going back tomorrow to get it all straightened out. I'm not happy that I've waited for almost 2 weeks and heard nothing only to find that I would not have heard anything unless I had gone back in. All I can say is they better get it figured out or I go elsewhere for business.
