Don't give him ideas! Or wait, did you just put up a honey trap, so he gets stuck...? Sweet! 😜

Maybe somewhere close to September 6? Seems like the King is saving a lot of the goods for the finish. Good strategy, keeps things fresh in the voter's mind.

Naw man, not saving anything, just plugging along doing what the bike tells me I should do.

Just finished the honeycomb mag sprocket. I love it when accidental ideas come out this sweet. By following random patterns I have avoided the honeytrap. :D

How did you fix them?

I cut them wide with little feeler pieces all around, so it takes a good bit of pressing those little springer pieces in to get each piece to fit. I am pretty confident that these will hold themselves in place. But I may add a drop of the Gorilla Clear Grip glue here and there if need be.

Looks good! I like how the light reflects through the chainring.

Yeah, it's really cool how these cells almost have a house of mirrors effect with light and colors. Just like a Bruce Lee movie. ENTER THE HEXAGON!

Making good progress while I have daylight. Got the holes drilled for the top clamp. Bolt intentionally goes through center of honeycomb cell on both sides

Got the bottom one drilled too.

The hex frame darts for the downtube were supposed to be for the midtube. I have been hating have to look at that useless clamping tab. So I cut it off finally.

I assume that you plan to thin out the tabs, so that they cover as few of the honeycomb as possible. Maybe in hexagonal shape?
(I would hate to see that much of the delicous "bread" covered as the tabs sit now)

Thanks for the idea @SwissGuy ! This is part of what makes us build better bikes in BOs than we would on our own.

Sorry, I guess the irony didn't come through. You could have finished in January, and people would still be talking about the Hex

You do realize of course that the more intricate details you put into this bike, the more work it’s going to take to keep it shiny and clean , right ? Make sure you take it out for a test ride and final photo shoot/video on a nice dirty, muddy road so everyone else in your class has at least a slim chance of competing !!
