If he's crazy I must be nuts it was my idea😂

At least we haven't started a "Show us your bicycle doodoo pics" gallery thread
YET!!!!!!

Lately, I've been back and forth with hotrod, streetrod, dragster, ratrod as far as direction for this build. I'll show some of the missing mockups later. Setting that aside, I stopped off at a couple of goodwills today and scored the valve covers I have been hoping for with this supercharged mickey mouse engine. These tiny bread loaf tins are perfect scale.

If I mount it on the kiddy car body, the engine block would basically be the car body. But some of my options dont include the car body, or at least don't have the engine on the body. I was trying to think what could I make the engine block from and still have fun with it. Well I remembered this baby beer keg I had ordered for BEER RUN in BO6 in my rookie year. It didn't arrive until after my build and I haven't done anything with it since then.

I think the scale and shaoe off it make for a cool cartoonish engine.

One of my ideas has the engine mounted out in front of the frame. Here is a suoer basic mockup. Of course the real keg engine would be mounted higher (probably in like with the tank panel section of the frame).
Also if I make the engine way, the front round center could be a perfect place to incorporate a headlight.

I like that keg idea.
How are you planning to assemble the cylinder heads on the keg? And do you still have to drink it all?

The engine on there would look absolutely mean. Can't wait for more to be honest!

Nice headlight. How many lumens? 🤣

You read my mind. I was editing that last post to add this.... "Also if I make the engine way, the front round center could be a perfect place to incorporate a headlight."

Right now they are just mocked up with my trusty aluminum duct tape, but my first guess is that I will make curved slices on the supercharger and the valve covers to match the curve of the keg. The beer has been long gone from the keg, even before I bought it on ebay back in 2011.

Got home from dinner and did a simple mockup rig with some clamps. This places it at about the right height, but a good bit farther forward than I would want it.

You'll have your own solution, but were it mine, I'd be contemplating modifying the engine to surround the headtube, concealing it. That would place it further back, but not so much that it interferes with the rider's knees. The long stem could pass straight through a hole cut in the top of the scoop, but the scoop opening itself would still point forward and remain unobstructed.

Just spitballin'.

I can visualize that as a viable option too. Something more to noodle on. Thanks for the input.
EDIT: I like the idea of this as it rolls around in my head. The dimensions should be about right too. Of course I would use something else for the engine block than the baby keg. But I can see this idea having legs. Thanks for planting it in my head!

That looks like more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Or hemis.

In Canada we sell those kegs we call them Bubba's and make them look like hockey players View attachment 236897
That's 5 liters of Molson dressed up as a maple leaf. Oh Canada.
I've been looking for an item that would work for a faux moon tank on a future drag build. When you posted this I searched the Canadian Bubba cans on ebay. Cheap they ain't. 😮. Even empty!

Actually the beer can has already been scrapped in favor of @RustySprockets suggestion. So no beer sponsorship on this one. However there will be a chili sponsor and just slight tweak to the build name.
