Iam lost here , it says no watched threeads , no watched forums , no alerts , no news feed , and the my content section only show my onw post ... i hate it !
upgrade is good , but this i consider downgrade to a modern version . sorry , i had to empty my mind ,and i respect all the work you put into this , but i just hate it (the new site)

You'll get used to it.

Watched Threads - it shows you the Watched Threads that you haven't read. All you have to do to see all of the threads is click on the line of text below that says "Show all watched threads"

Watched Forums will show up for the Sub-Forums that you choose to select "Watch" for.

Check your Alert Preferences by hovering over your name in the upper right and selecting them.

If there is some other function or view that you used to use but can't do it now, let us know. There is probably a way to do it, it's just a little different. I've been able to recreate most of the views that I use to have.

Yep...you can't enter into an entirely new system expecting to know where everything is and how to use everything right away.

As with any new software, it will take a few weeks of steady use to know your way around and become comfortable.

You may not believe it, but the feature set of this forum software is quite a bit more rich and advanced than the previous forum.

Upper right hand beginning of each thread has a watch/unwatch setting. Same with forums.

I can remember my first ever computer (486 processor and Windows95 which cost me about 3 grand!:blackeye:). I started out with Netscape for a browser and hung on to it until it literally would not work at all just because I was so used to how it worked, and couldn't get used to anything else quick enough to satisfy myself. Of course i was eventually forced to play Taps and move on with the next browser in line. I eventually achieved the same comfort level only to have to change again at some point. Usually in the process I would find new things that I really liked and a few things that I missed, but the pain of changing would always go away with a little time.

All of this change here at RRB's has the same feel to some extent, but I know that in a short amount of time, very few people would want to switch back.:soapbox:

"Can someone running IE10 and IE11 tell me if the Ebay banners are wacky looking...i.e. scattered all over the screen?
"

Win 7 - IE8 - Answer yes when initially clicking on "Forums".
The list of forums is below the wacky, and once one is selected, all is well.

From all of my testing, it looks like the forum displays correctly in every version of all browsers except IE7, IE8, and IE9.

All others like Chrome, Opera, Safari, and Firefox all display everything correctly in all versions.

So if you're still running IE7-IE9......the main forum page is going to look messed up.

As a professional web design in the business for 17 years I'd like to make a declaration....INTERNET EXPLORER BITES!

The thing I miss most from the old format is the "view your posts" button. I know now we have the "your content" button, but that isn't *exactly* the same to me. I've quit using the "your content" button and now I just view the forums that I have visited and look for a little version of my icon beside the thread meaning that I have participated in that thread and I can just from looking see if anything new has been posted.

This might help others that miss the "view your posts" button like I did.

It's funny, in the 7 years I've run the forum I never used the "View Your Posts" link.

I always clicked on the "View New Posts" link. I even had the link in my browser set to go to that page first.

I guess as the Admin of the site I'm always trying to keep an eye on everything that's going on.

Also if someone commented in a thread I started it would always be listed on the "View New Posts" view as well.

I used to use "View Your Posts" all the time. Watched Threads is close, but still not quite the same functionality.

I guess I'm not as self absorbed as yall are. :21:

Actually it was an easy way to see updates on other peoples threads that interested me in the past without having to "Watch" them.

"So if you're still running IE7-IE9......the main forum page is going to look messed up."

I use Chrome at home, but some ver. of IE is on the machine.
If I get the chance tonight, I'll try both and let you know what I see.

So does that mean its gonna stay wacky forever?

Pretty much. haha Sorry man, I thought I was one of the last holdouts on IE, but when I started using Firefox and got use to it, I no longer missed IE.

If you want to stick with IE, you can still just upgrade it for free to IE10.
