Those cranks are going to spin forever! Nice addition.

Maybe some mustard ratina treatment to the crank arms and pedals? :nerd:

I’m thinking that as I ride the bike I’ll wear through the paint and the primer and into the black finish…

Yeah, true. A little #0000 steel wool rub initially might help take the sheen off.

Super cool to have a skippy with 3 piece cranks!
Love it!

I bought a crank with a 19mm spindle, so I got a bottom bracket to fit that size to an “American” bottom bracket shell View attachment 269895View attachment 269896Dan’s comp has great instructions with pictures for this installation View attachment 269898I wasn’t feeling the black crank arms so I hit them with some leftover paint from last years bike View attachment 269899and then some pedals View attachment 269900
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue

Too hot to get a lot done last night, just mounted the tires and the skip tooth sprocket

I like the look of those tires and rims!
Are you sure 'Blue Bike Too' is going to be enough of a name for this hot rod?

Maybe Blue Flame or Blue Streak or Blue Thunder? 😁

@Dr. Tankenstein has been running Speedballs for a while and loves them. They look killer too.

I’ve been slacking as much as I can, how was I not on page 2?? Anyway, I’m going to chop up this fender to make a stubby one, but the fork has no threaded hole underneath

I dropped an Allen bolt with a washer down the steer tube, and after I mount the fender I’ll grind the bolt off flush with the nut, got just enough clearance

I also got the truss rods and bracket straightened out, and got some new hardware, couldn’t find brass acorn nuts the right size so I got stainless, it’s ok I kinda like the contrast.

Yeah, I have a couple left from when my son and I made 2 stave shell constructed snares. I bought extra thinking we might screw one up.
Made the jigs for turning the shells using my hand router. Fun bonding project with my oldest son, the drummer.

Great tip! I might have to do the same thing.
