Great time to paint - no bugs!

I agree. The Hampton gives you more room to put a wider knobby up front and is forward axle to add an inch of wheel base for stability on the trail.

A quick sand (after sticker removal) and some black engine paint for durability and it will match the build perfectly.

Edit: use a wire wheel on the grinder for sticker removal if you plan to paint it.
Thanks, I'll try the wire wheel method!

I wonder if you just keep that primer gray on that fork and match it up and keep it matte. You could add some lettering or a logo of some sort if you want. And man, are you ever taken advantage of that extremely unusually warm weather in Wisconsin and Minnesota right now!

Well, ran out of gloss black. So forks got semi-gloss instead.

Pulled an old set of VP-565 pedals out of the stash. Luckily they are 1/2 thread!

They got a dab of oil and cleaned 'em up - then they got the semi-gloss as well.

Also frame is curing by the wood furnace. I have to smooth and touch up the stickers on the head tube and seat tube.
