Really like the flow of the front fender braces, through the frame and back to the rear fins. Great work. The red and silver metal flake fit the design perfect.

I'm kinda late in a reply but... Some type of mount that would change the steering angle from the steer tube angle would be an interesting challenge. Hmmmm.

6th Annual OddJob Awards for RaT-isfaction ! Winners here!

Thanks and congrats to all the OddJob Award winners! And thanks OddJob for your efforts in keeping forum conversations moving, your insights, observations and suggestions. I know my builds aren't the only ones that are better because of your input.

Absolutely beautiful. Agree on another photo shoot. I don’t think the current first image shows off your work as well as it could. Maybe try looking for an area where you can get the bike in shade with some strong reflected sun light. Sun bouncing up from a light ground or an adjacent wall...

Thanks, and thanks for the research too. That view just looks like I’ve seen it somewhere before.

Thanks. Funny you mention the brake handle. Like a lot of pieces to this build it just fell into place. I had to mount it there because that was the longest brake cable I had!

Thank you Carl. Do you know, is there a T-shirt/cartoon image that looks like that? When I took the picture it struck me as familiar but I haven't been able to place it.

I'd bet probably better than it does now. That would make it more like a chopper though, if I understand right. I was shooting to keep the overall silhouette low with the head tube below the height of the tires and the front tire pushed out forward.

Inprocess Images See the build thread here. Ride Video (fender's a little clanky, need to look at that :wink1:)

It is rideable but has a bit of a mind of its own. Tends to strike out to the left or right without much notice. I'll have to work at getting a video uploaded eventually but here's a video still in the meantime. The wheelbase ended up shortened quite a bit in the effort to improve handling...

Day 7 plus 2 Time to ugly this up. I threw some big old front dropouts on to allow testing different trail lengths. I ended up moving the front tire back about six and a half inches from the original trail of 2 and a quarter. The further I moved it back the more stable it got... stability being...

Thank you, Yeah, that was quite a pile. Using that suspended rear was a real time saver. I knew the rear triangle and down tube were completely aligned and straight. Just built up everything else off of that.

As it sits there... braces, shoulder pads, knee pads, leather gloves and a full face helmet!

Day 7 plus 1 So, I did it! Built a bike that is completely unrideable. This thing has more flop than a salmon stuck on a sandbar on his way up stream to spawn. Actually... it's a huge success because it prevented me from going too far down a design path or creating a more involved build that...

Yup, thanks. The elephant and the one pictured at the bottom had flame effects too. Flame effect... think a controlled ball of exploding propane on top of a sixteen foot pipe above the center of the bottom bike or, coming out of the elephant's trunk. Thrilled kids, scared neighbors. Fun times.

Very unusual for me to be working this fast. I've got limited time and luckily things are falling into place easily.
