    Ross Europa ?

Very cool. Very unique. I love all the little 'speed holes' on the drivetrain. I would love to have found this at a garage sale. Good find!

Cricket Ain't No Rat (she's a Lady) 73 Collegiate Commuter

Cool bag. Would you mind showing us how you have the it attached? Is there anything supporting the bottom, or keeping it from swinging into the spokes? I like this idea of alternative (and affordable) pannier bags. I'm going to have to search out some more examples now. Thanks!

    Varsity blues

Very cool. Good find. Setup looks a lot like the traveler I just posted. Ride's nice, doesn't it?

    '72 Neighborhood Traveler

Yeah, It's an odd one. Right smack between mint and lime. I had never seen it before either.

    '72 Neighborhood Traveler

Picked up a 1972 World Traveler on the cheap. Tore it down, cleaned it up, repacked hubs and replaced all cables. Then added some new tires, vintage fenders, rack and northroad bars. Shifts and rides great. Finished it just in time to tow my kiddo in a trailer downtown for some fireworks. Super...

    Post rust removal protection/prevention

Yeah, sounds interesting for some parts. But say for example, you get some light rust off your rims with WD40 and steel wool. How do you keep that from coming back? Wouldn't want to krylon your chrome, would you?

    Post rust removal protection/prevention

Not the painted parts. But all the little bits. The nuts, bolts, and some chrome bits. Crowns, cups, fork nut thingers. Stuffs like that. What is this metal prep stuff?

So I came across this Evapo-Rust stuff in the local hardware store and I'm pretty impressed so far. My question is though... Once the rust is gone, how do you guys prevent it from coming back? Evapo-rust seems great at removing the rust, but only claims to prevent it for two weeks. Thoughts?

    '61 American Teardown

Yeah, I think I'm going with a new wheelset for exactly those reasons. Thanks.

    Are these hubs salvageable?

I won't waste m time on them then. Thanks!

Fork question, probably a dumb one.

Sweet. Thanks all. Now I've got options.

    Powder Coating pricing

My LBS said they can get frame & fork sandblasted & painted for around $80. My uncle has machined parts powdercoated all the time and said he'd be surprised if his guy would charge me more than $50. But I wonder if the extra $30 is worth having it done by a guy who knows bikes. Hmm...

Fork question, probably a dumb one.

What's the story on this screw? Is this for holding the front fender on? The fork and tube are one piece, right? I cannot get this screw to budge. I plan on having my frame/fork powdercoated, should I just have them sandblast and powdercoat right over this evil screw?

    Are these hubs salvageable?

Hey all, I'm at a point where I'm debating what to do here and could use some advice. In the end I'm looking to end up with all my parts fairly shiny/clean as I'm having the frame/forks powdercoated. Shiny frame needs shiny parts. :D I'm not concerned with staying original on this project...

    '61 American Teardown

Re: My '61 American Oh, and if anyone is interested in the handlebar, grips [GONE], chainguard, or beat-up fender, they won't be going back on — I've got other plans there. So shoot me an offer if interested (Not sure if they're worth much). Also, I'm looking for a cloverleaf chainring for my...

    '61 American Teardown

Well, here's how far along I've gotten. It's definitely fun taking them apart, but we'll see if I can get it back together! I still need to try removing the bearing cups from the BB and the headset. And then I need to bring it in to a local shop to get that kickstand off. I can get the...
