    STBO Mixte bag

Very cool mod, I’ll have to keep that in mind for future builds!

That jet light is a beauty and the perfect cherry on top. 👍

2024 MBBO & STBO - Are you in?

Maybe? Here's the step thru section of the current build off:

Oh, I'm jealous! That sounds awesome!

    MBBO BAD INFLUENCE!

It looks super cool, scraps or not! It's probably just due to head tube angle.

    MBBO Won’t finish: Savage B.O.B.

That's just killer! I love how all of your builds have some similar features but have a completely different personality of their own and are always awesome. Very cool!

    MBBO BAD INFLUENCE!

Thanks! Yeah, I've been adjusting the forks up and down in the triple trees and it doesn't seem to make too much of a difference in how parallel the tubes are to the ground, but it is noticeable. I need to get over to the other garage where my welding equipment is to set it up permanent. I'd...

    Those handlebars are wild!

    Step thru is a maybe

I spent a little time with some WD40 and steel wool and the chain guard cleaned up half decent. Not terrible for old abused sunburnt paint. It took most of the white off of the lettering but I can live with that. Maybe this will be ok.

That’s looking great! What size tire are you using, it looks pretty fat. 1 3/8”?

    MBBO BAD INFLUENCE!

I’ll save the welding for a day when I have more time. I wanted a better look at the bike overall so I threw some more parts at it. It will fall apart if you touch it but it looks cool. I love the slick tire on the back.

The first mock-up with the full drag forks and wheels. This is exiting! It looks great but I have to admit to being nervous about the next step- welding them up straight and true. I’m a novice welder still so hopefully it all goes well.

    MBBO BAD INFLUENCE!

I love the smell of mock-up in the morning. The fork plates bolted right on with a standard Huffy headset. The nice thing about using a 2.125 slick is that there are no clearance issues. Wheel bolted on perfectly after widening the frame to fit the 5 speed hub.

There’s some chance that this is the first time this NOS slick has been mounted on a rim. It mounted up just fine and looks great.

    Motobecane Grand Jubile

I’ve been messing around with this one a bit looking at codes to figure out what year it is. Most of the components have 1980 date codes so I’m guessing it’s a 1980 or early ’81. I’ve been gathering parts for the refresh. I’ll be using modern bars, wider with shallower drops, with a shorter...

    STBO Stirrup: the Hornets' Nest

This is how I like to set mine up. You can see I have a 2x under the bottom bracket shell and a 4x under the top of the seat post tube for support. Then position the long 2x4 to where it's just under the dropout for max leverage. Before I make any adjustments I measure the distance between...

Looks great! I love the tank, saddle and rack!

    STBO Stirrup: the Hornets' Nest

Another thing to try would be to use the 2x4 the way you originally did but put a block of wood or something between the 2x4 and the seat tube. You might not have enough room to push the 2x4 down the way you have it sitting directly on the seat tube. You may have to use your body weight a bit...
