Has anyone here followed their dream

The off shoring of American manufacturing, bicycle, sewing machines, toothpicks, you name it was done by Americans interested in their own greed and ambition above all other considerations. This includes the manipulation of the American dollar to always be expensive which makes our products...

What are your thoughts on tubular tires.

That is such a lovely tire rim combination.

    Wooden bicycle build

Another design you might want to study is the very successful Pedersen design bicycle. A Danish designer and built in England originally in or around 1900. One can still buy a Pedersen. You will see the wires and how Pedersen arranged them into a completely workable bicycle. No wood but his...

    Stainless Scrapper

Nice work so far. I really like your design. These types of projects always seem to have deadend ideas that need reworking, I know mine always do. Keep up the good work.

    Jude's finds

This is an old school bumper mount headlight/spotlight from yesteryear. I used to see these everywhere during the late 50's and early 60's. Brings back fond memories. I'll bet that thing weighs as much as your bikes entire front end. The good thing is you'll not be able to bend that bracket...

    Freeliner

You're bike is well thought out and your paint job is really nice. I like that you used a drum brake on the back. Cantilever frames from yesteryear are hard to install anything except a coaster or drum brake on the rear. With the old school cantilever brakes arms on the front this bike will...

    Dead Reckoning - '81 Raleigh R10

Great job on color choices and overall restoration. I love dual purpose usefulness and your kickstand fits that bill well. Good job.

    Felt Bicycle Pics

One of my bikes has crank ground strike issues but after a couple of groundings I got used to it and have never had problems since. Your bike takes that to another level, probably the basement level. I love that you can use the pedals as kickstands. Good looking bike.

    Super Fueler

This is a fabulous bike. Just love your build idea and execution. Great Job.

Springs are hard to fabricate and still look good and work right. Bravo on your new spring.

    Crash's Bike Build page

Crash I just love your hard work on one of my favorite eras of bicycles. When the "rail" long top tube 20" and sometimes 24" wheeled bikes came on the scene in the 60's I was in Jr and Hi school and already a dedicated bicycle nut. I really loved the long top tube 20" bikes. They were usually...

    Stuzman wood rims

Such a fine looking wheel. Really hard to beat this on cool factor.

    AL-U-Mini

Your bike build is really turning out well. I love futzing around with low voltage DC electronics. I only have a basic understanding of Ohm's law and use internet research for every thing else. Mostly that works but not always. Keep up the good work.

The Schwinn Varsity and Continental thread.

Recently repainted my 73 Schwinn Varsity. Had it powdercoated in a high visibilty yellow like color. Decals by WebCal. These pictures were taken on one of my favorite rides along the south levee at the Port of Sacramento which is located in West Sacramento. Go figure. I think the new paint...

    E bike recommendations please

My wife and I have about 2500 miles apiece on our Rad City 4's. These have been wonderful bikes. We are on the second year of owning with really no problems. We bought Rad because they looked like they may be around for a while. The other thing about Rad is that their bikes look a lot like...

    Velocals Closing

Sad to hear about VeloCal I bought some decals earlier this year for my 73 Varsity. They did a great job on them. I had the bike repainted, powdercoated, and then applied extra thick UV protected decals on top of the powdercoat. The decals are a metal lime green and look great on the bike.

    Nondestructive testing of aluminum.

My wife bought an older Trek hybrid aluminum frame bike from the early 2000's and it has been a very good bicycle. I went with her and looked the bike over real well because of their reputation for cracking before buying it. It has held up nicely for many thousands of miles.

    Roaring 20s Winged Wheel Archbar

At least you can still move around. Between my model yacht hobby and bicycles my shop is a warren of narrow isles stacked with all sorts of junk. I am on a shop cleaning spree this year, much more so than in years past and am gradually cleaning up the place.

    Roaring 20s Winged Wheel Archbar

    Stuzman wood rims

What an interesting composite wheel. It looks great and will be very strong. When I bought my 1971 Schwinn Paramount race bike new it came with sewup rims that were aluminum clad wooden rims. They were very strong and durable. Kind of the opposite of your construction.
