    New and already need help

I struggled with small 2 cycle engines for years. Leaf blowers, string trimmers, etc. I was lucky to get a full season out of them without major headaches. Finally, about 10-12 years ago, I bought all new equipment and started running them on the pre-mixed fuel from the hardware store...

    TWOJS FRESH FINDS

I almost need an as-found video. Might be some sort of cyber-optic-worm-hole to the 80s!

    TWOJS FRESH FINDS

All I can think of is the word “radical!l She wants it rideable for her young boys. Open to advic, but current plan is to stay as original as possible. Looks like the frame has guides for a gyro-headset? Worth adding?

    TWOJS FRESH FINDS

Somebody tell me what I have here? My neighbor just dropped this off for a full rebuild. It was her husband’s childhood bike. Looks awesome, but I don’t know a ton about vintage BMX

Sturmey Archer 2 speed kickback hub operation

That is a huge help. Thank you!! I will probably put on a smaller cog. It is a very flat area and I think he was having a hard time keeping up on group rides to the breweries. Not much need for a low gear. I think I have an 18t cog. That would give a choice of 56 or 77 gear inches...

Sturmey Archer 2 speed kickback hub operation

26” wheels. It came with a 40t front chainring and 22t rear cog. I’m not great with gear ratios. I just go by feel. I’m have a few other rear cogs to choose from.

Sturmey Archer 2 speed kickback hub operation

It made sense to me. I actually just bought one. Got the idea from this thread. I am working on a friend’s all blacked out beach cruiser. He lives in a flat area (Richmond VA) and mostly rides to the local breweries . He was complaining that he needed his bike to go faster...

    Fixing up a Schwinn

If it was me, I would build it up 100% mechanically sound , but real ratty looking. Fresh grease and ball bearings are super cheap. Take the time to adjust the BB, Heaset, wheel bearings, true the wheels, etc. should cost next to nothing other than your time. But I would keep it ratty...

    Fixing up a Schwinn

Head badge has screws. From my experience the non-chicago head badges are riveted. Not sure that is 100% true 100% of the time. I don’t think we have seen a picture of the whole bike frame yet?

    Tryke this on for size

I found this on eBay. Do you know the brand name of the trike kit? Also, I believe smaller wheels are stronger than larger wheels. You may want to stick with 24in. I do see plenty of 20in rims with 28h. And you could probably put fat tires on the 20in rims. Just some ideas.

    Tryke this on for size

I have never worked on a trike, so please take my advice with a grain of salt. (Whatever that means!) What is the diameter of the axle? This rear trike wheel says it is for a 17mm axle with three notches. Do you have three notches...

    STBO Ms. Higgins

I stand corrected. The dropouts, the chain wheel, and the fork don’t look like what I recognize as Murray. My Murray’s were likely all early 60s.

    MBBO Won’t finish: Savage B.O.B.

I use an ultrasonic cleaner with hot water and Palmolive for 90% of my cleaning and degreasing. I also keep a container of evaporust that can sit inside the ultrasonic bath. Beyond that I keep 2 spray bottles. One with isopropyl alcohol and the other with a very strong solution of Palmolive...
