    ** The next build off 2024 **

I'm entering the STBO. I really need to put the new tires on and see what works and doesn't, and see if it will fit my rider. Is it OK to do that now?

What a great mod! So "swoopy" looking. So when you find a good deal, you jump on it right away...literally.

    Oval top of seatpost question

Thanks, Commander. I think I can make it work now. Is 5" enough to have down the seat tube part? Jason Thanks, Rick. I have actually thought about getting a local machine shop to turn me one in aluminum...but with all these suggestions...especially yours...I'm going to just cut the post where...

    Rusty Huffy Muscle Bike

What a fabulous bike. I have two classic Huffys...step through cruisers...both dumpster finds. You've done a great job preserving this one in its original patina. I've heard of restoring a faded, old finish can be done with a rubbed-in treatment of boiled linseed oil. Have you ever tried that...

    Oval top of seatpost question

Thanks for all the info, Mr. Hammer. The OD of the round part is about .880 inch. I guess that's about 7/8ths. I'll have about 5 inches of stem down into the tube after I cut it off.

    Oval top of seatpost question

I am working on an old Murray Westport, maybe 1980s. The seatpost was jammed, but I eventually got it out. The top of the tube is slightly oval shaped, and I was wondering if that is a design feature, or if someone clamped it in a vise and squeezed it. Thanks for any help, folks. If it's...

    Huffy something or other

I love the clunky style of the Huffy. Perhaps make it into sort of a battle tank looking bike, knobby tires, military looking handlebar bag, maybe some "armor" plates in places, just for effect. I think work with its oddities and really make something unique. Good find on marketplace. I love the...

Murray Westport sizing for new parts

I've got an old Murray Westport I found at the dumpster a couple weeks ago. I know thos is an ancient post, but it gave me some good info on measurements. One thing...use P Blaster with 0000 or 00000 steel wool is perfect. The Blaster really loosens the rust big time. I use finer than 3 0 steel...

    UNLIMITED Singularity

That's a real stretch limo. Did it belong to Elvis? Where did you get the springer fork. I've been looking for a high quality double like yours, for my little step-thru checkered chopper.

    2 free dumpster cruisers!

Ok great. I was looking at the 1 3/4 size tires and wondering if they are a correct fit. Thanks.

    2 free dumpster cruisers!

It's just the assembled rim and hub...no tire. It is an s7. I guess I can always find one of those used schwinn tires on ebay that came on all of them. I've seen a couple there before. So glad to know that it may be a different size.

    2 free dumpster cruisers!

Thanks. Thats great info. The tires are 26 x 2.125. So...would an old schwinn wheel work for the back, with the hub width and everything? I found a used 26 inch schwinn rear wheel with a red line Bendix hub and coaster brake. Would that maybe work? What should the width of the actual wheel rim...

    559 in which dimension?

    2 free dumpster cruisers!

So great to hear this, Wildcat. That would have taken me a mound of research to discover. Now I know how to fund a wheel. Thanks!

    2 free dumpster cruisers!

Yeah, Kevin...it is a very well made, sturdy bike. Needs a new rear wheel, as this one is bent. Definitely a bone shaker when ridden lol. But I'm not sure if any single speed rear wheel will work, or if it has to be an actual Murray wheel. Any ideas?

Thats certainly downhill only 😂. Do it!

    2 free dumpster cruisers!

Yeah, Cap'n...I think it's perfect. I have the old black and white Huffy Good Vibrations 26 inch step through that I mentioned on here before, and I'll probably stick with that build. Black and white checkerboeard theme. But if I can't get those dual springer forks to work, I may take this...

    2 free dumpster cruisers!

Went on a ride on my old Huffy cruiser this morning around the parking lots here at the apartments. Decided not to go through one parking lot, but turned into it on a whim. Down at the end of the lot I saw 2 cruiser bikes at the dumpster. Rode back to my apt, then walked back and brought them...

Make sure you get a good financial advisor to manage all $15 of your autograph money. I learned this the hard way.
