bigred407's low budget Powerlite Industries trike build.

No you're view of Scotland isn't far wrong!! Think we just lack the rain followed by good heat to make a really crusty baked look. :rockout:

bigred407's low budget Powerlite Industries trike build.

I have stripped one of them a lot more to see what it looks like...hard work by hand using wire wool!! :headbang: Liking how it looks though, just need to leave them outdoors to age a little. Any tips on what to cover them in to aid the rust process?

    Bomber, a clunky bmx.

Should be an interesting build. Unusual to have that style of fork on a cruiser though. Although as Luke say's it's perfect for your build. :cool2:

VERY minor update today... Had a mess around with some coarse steel wool & dulled, scuffed, wore through the paint on the front wheel discs to see how it turned out.... I think they turned out not too badly. Have only used corarse grade on them so far. What do you guys think? Do i leave them...

    Let the Trike builders unite...

Nice thread & a neat idea to have all the trikes in one are. Your build is looking good Rhys, what size wheels will you be running on it?

Stray Cat...."The Cats Ready to Prowl"

Awesome looking build. Just shows how a cool bike can be made from cheap mountain bike shaped objects. Certainly gave me a few ideas being a budget builder myself, just need to start thinking outside the box more! I like the wishbone style seat stays on the frame you've used for the rear on...

bigred407's low budget Powerlite Industries trike build.

I don't really have a proper workshop, or I might well have tried that. Have looked online and genuine tractor seats are a fortune. There was a guy who used to post on a U.K. Custom Motorcycle forum did a nice Fibreglass replica of a vintage tractor seat but I can't find a contact anywhere...

    Lowlife trike

Ha....I did wonder as the concept looks so similar. If there was an adult version available I'd buy one!! Should be a great machine once built mate.

    Lowlife trike

Nice looking build. Almost like a larger version of the Powerlite Industries trike I'm revamping for our son.

Your Rat ridden most miles per year.....

My current most used ride is.......nothing :( sad I know. Hoping to remedy that soon though with a Schwinn Stingray (not the classic model) with a few mods for adult use so me and our kids can go out cruisin the pavements! :rockout:

Not sure if the U.S. is the same as here in the U.K., but I think some of the problem is the throw away culture we now live in. People aren't interested in making their own stuff any more, they just want to buy of the peg, use & abuse then bin it. That for me is such a shame, how can being...
