    1958-1960 Bikes for the Movies

I posted this in the wanted section, but no bites, so I will post here. I have a contact from a Movie prop company in CA that I sold a restored BMX to a couple of years ago -it was for the movie Super 8. I recently spoke with him and is now looking for bikes from the 1958-1960 period. These...

Thanks, great info. I wanted to get an idea of what it was before I listed it. I hate to offer something and not let the buyer know what it is.

Need Help ID'ing some BMX Forks.....

Nothing special, but don't know what they came on. Obvisously it is from a Freestyle BMX. Also, it has the telltale signs of a low end bike- the "lawyer" holes near the dropouts.

    Bike Polo Bikes

    What is a 69er?

69ers are an idea that did not catch on in the mountain bike world due to not so great bike handling. The next wave after the 29er tires is 27.5 inch. Watch out for it. The best of both worlds with the 26" and 29".

ANYONE NOTICE VINTAGE BMX IS PICKING UP STEAM?

Totally agree. Not many 18 years olds today want a 1964 Chevy Nova II for example. Every 40+ year would take it in a heartbeat.

    '72 Baja Beetle (TRADED)

Re: '72 Baja Beetle Project This is so ironic. I have a 14 year old who wants a Bug as well, and we are in GA! He is wanting to sell some of his bike projects to get one!

    Dumpster-diver

Dumpster Diver is Johnathan Webb. He is out of Valdosta, GA, I believe. I bought parts from him in the past. If he is still in college down there, then he is on the long term plan, as he was in college @ 2005, when I started dealing with him on the old Schwinnbike.com forum. Sorry this...

I am into Schwinn King Stings. Another collector of King Stings, told me he converted one to a 29er. Maybe my next project!?!

Strange. I can see it, everytime I pull up the link. Will try and take some more snapshots.

    Columbia year ID?

Figured it out. It is a 1958 Columbia Torpedo. I cannot seem to find any pics of a boy's bike, as I am finding all kinds of girl's bikes. Why?

    Columbia year ID?

Dang sickness I tell you. I am a BMX guy, but found this and couldn't resist. I know it is a Columbia, and the owner said it is circa 1957/58. Where can I find the serial number on it to ID it with a chart of Columbia serial numbers I have?

    Schwinn King Sting- Ya'Mon...No Problem!

KING "STON" STING These are some teaser photos. I have yet to put on my NOS yellow Schwinn cables. But, I figure, if there is a King Sting, why not a Kingston Sting?! Needs some finishing touches before the inaugural ride!

Modern V brakes on a vintage frame

Here is what I bought for a 26" BMX build I am doing now. These are adjustable, so you can run any type of wheel on any frame. I looked at the old school Moots mountain bike ones, and just liked the cleaner look of these. I got my set through these guys: Evolution Bike Co 4500 South Main...

    20" wheels on 26" frame...

Don't have a picture handy, but google Moosegoose BMX or click the link below. You want to see what a funky looking big frame looks like with 20" tires? http://www.vintagemongoose.com/products/moosegoose.php But they are cool as hell to ride and pull wheelies on. The first time I took mine...
