That bike is long gone, all that weight was too much for such a cheap frame and it handled poorly/was under braked. Likely had 40lbs of batteries running 4 x 12 volt for 48 volt 16amp/hr total. Lead acid batteries will only last a few months before you see the range drop off rapidly. I did not...

You should consider spreading the weight of those batteries around the bike like I did with my first e-bike. Try to keep the weight as low as possible or it will really change the way your bike handles.

You can get metal handlebar shims which should work as you are not planning to use tall ape hangers. The taller the bars the more lever-arm pressure will be on the clamp. Nice to see more electric builds, they are a great way to make a not-to-practical build into something enjoyable to ride...

This one is 48 volt 30amp/hr pack, top speed should be about 54km/hr. You would need 60 volt in a 26" wheel to go any faster.

Updates: Now in colour! Needs a chain, connect the brakes, wires and ride!

That's nuthin'! One of the guys on endless-sphere.com build one with 3 RC helicopter motors, 40,000 watts total. I posted some pics elsewhere on this site.

Thanks Falstaff: I see the bike as kind of a retro-modern hot rod bobber, which to me screams for red and black! I was originally going to do it in black with natural wood but I'm saving that for the next build which will have big'n little motorcycle tires, likely 6000 watts at 72 volt :cool2:
