    QS motors

I built up a wheel with the smaller motor, likely going to run a Greentime 3000 watt 80 amp controller to compare to the other motors I've used up 'til now. I have a custom built 48 volt 30 amp/hr 50 amp cont./100 amp peak triangle battery coming in the next week to mount in a mtb frame for the...

    QS motors

The courier just dropped off these two motors. I ordered them direct from QS motors in China, only took a week to arrive from the factory. I've tried/researched/tested several motors over the last six years but these are the best quality I've seen yet. The 28H is rated for 800 watts continuous...

    B-52 trike

More first rate fab work! The bottom bracket drive will ensure you get a lot more use out of your new trike

    Science!

This was built mainly to use parts I already had. I was experimenting with the idea of building several bikes that I could slide the batteries on and off so one set of packs would work on several builds. The original plan was to have both packs together in the frame's triangle but access to the...

    v 4.0

The bike is finally finished and getting some much deserved riding time. There are a couple of details to complete (like painting out the turbo fan on the chain side of the motor) but this is about as complete as it's going to be. I've already started collecting pieces for the next one...

    Is there.....

Most e-bike kits have a thumb (or twist grip) throttle, no need to pedal. Are you having trouble finding one or haven't you had a good look yet? All the e-bikes I've built are throttle only and have no PAS system at all. In fact, I often give a little throttle and then throw my leg over the bike...

    Yet another boardtracker

Happy wife, happy life. Honestly though, it's a beautiful build, you should be very happy with the result. :cool2:

    Yet another boardtracker

I see, now you've finally put the board in 'board tracker'. Awesome build, great stance, although it really would (IMO) look better with the other springer. Ride on! :41:

    Summer Ebike Build?

That bike is long gone, all that weight was too much for such a cheap frame and it handled poorly/was under braked. Likely had 40lbs of batteries running 4 x 12 volt for 48 volt 16amp/hr total. Lead acid batteries will only last a few months before you see the range drop off rapidly. I did not...

    Summer Ebike Build?

You should consider spreading the weight of those batteries around the bike like I did with my first e-bike. Try to keep the weight as low as possible or it will really change the way your bike handles.

    Humble Worksman E-Trike #2

You can get metal handlebar shims which should work as you are not planning to use tall ape hangers. The taller the bars the more lever-arm pressure will be on the clamp. Nice to see more electric builds, they are a great way to make a not-to-practical build into something enjoyable to ride...

    v 4.0

This one is 48 volt 30amp/hr pack, top speed should be about 54km/hr. You would need 60 volt in a 26" wheel to go any faster.

    v 4.0

Updates: Now in colour! Needs a chain, connect the brakes, wires and ride!

    v 4.0

That's nuthin'! One of the guys on endless-sphere.com build one with 3 RC helicopter motors, 40,000 watts total. I posted some pics elsewhere on this site.

    v 4.0

Thanks Falstaff: I see the bike as kind of a retro-modern hot rod bobber, which to me screams for red and black! I was originally going to do it in black with natural wood but I'm saving that for the next build which will have big'n little motorcycle tires, likely 6000 watts at 72 volt :cool2:

Thanks Luke: It was like working in black&white, now I can finally see it in colour! :dance2:

Weather's been cold up here north of the border, finally managed to get a couple of coats of paint on this project...time to put it together :41:

    Humble Worksman Etrike Conversion

That's an awesome mobility device for someone that could not cover much ground otherwise. To me it looks a lot more 'hip' than a senior's mobility scooter. There's an older gentleman in my area that rips around regularly on a similar rig. I know his family are worried about him on it as they...
