WINTER BUILD OFF- My junk dont have no name yet

UPDATE. Finally after all the holiday rush and crazy hours at work, I was able to get a minute to mess with this. For those Columbia enthusiasts, could you possibly put a date on this thing? The rear drop out says B 50030. Not a whole lot of work done, but its gonna be slow going (hopefully I...

Picked up this Excelsior junker & New Goodies 1/8/14

I was on lunch today and stopped at this old, small hardware store in the neighborhood down the road from work, and apparently he used to be the bicycle repair man 20 years ago. It looks as though no one has touched anything in this store in 20 years... There is so much NOS stuff everywhere...

I wish! There's 25+ inches of white stuff out there right now.

Picked up this Excelsior junker & New Goodies 1/8/14

Robbing it for parts on another future build. It got a nice set of s-2's and the springer is nice. Possibly cutting up the frame and welding it up into a stretched frame, possibly with a motor. :cool2:

Sorry in advance for the bad pics, I'll try to get some more when the weather clears up. Check out this frame repair, it is possibly the worst on this site? It's been on CL for a while, but I got it cheap enough after 3 months.

    Spaceliner Convertible

That's rad. If that were my old lady, she would be without that bike. Lol. Then again, that's another excuse for another bike. Its a win win.;)

    1950 Western Flyer???

I remember those modern looking reflectors and dirt tires being the cats pajamas in 1950. :21: Nonetheless, still a cool bike.

I have no idea where this is going. PPV with PICS

It has some space behind the seats, just like a single cab truck would have. I have seen bimini tops on some of them, and that would be something I'd like. As far as skis, I'd pass. This thing is nearly impossible to drive in the snow. :(

I am starting to wonder about it though, whether its greased or not. I'm afraid to tear into it.

Christmas Giveaway Contest! Guess how much scrap metal...

It varies so much here. Some days/weeks, it will be $250 a ton on up, but others, it will be down to 160-170 a ton. But I can drive an hour west from me and get $325 a cubic ton for short steel. Metal here is Michigan is crazy. And theft here had gotten so bad over the past few years, its...

Sorry for the delay. Who knew it was so hard to get over to my dads house with a charged phone. :banghead: SO, FINALLY AFTER ALL THIS WAIT. 3 SPEED TRANS FRONT WHEEL AND STEERING FORK AND UNDERBODY OH, and we won this at the Freakbike ride last sunday. He's made out of spare...

    Those Commuter miles add up.

I thought he did the 8.8 there, and 5.4 home? Roughly 14 a day. And I really like this pic. Super cool.

    Any Idea What These Are?

IT RIDES. I just got back from the Freakbike end of the year banquet at CiCi's, and rode it around there. It rides great. None of the loud clunking noise when shifting. Only thing I could see being a problem is riding in the drivers seat, because my knees hit the handlebar, but I fit okay in the...

Its not all he had though. He had a few different trikes and other cool old stuff in his garage too. A lot of old bmx frames and he had a few of these ppv carcasses laying in his yard.

The one I got is NOS. He only wanted to sell one this time, so him and his wife each have their own, plus he has two kids. This one has never been assembled, and I took everything out of boxes when I got to the garage. This is one cool ride. I nearly have it all together, except for the...
