That is truly sad, at least he is not suffering anymore. Looking at the later pics of him I wondered if he was battling illness.

Any info about what happened, illness, accident...? I couldn't find anything online yet about how he passed.

In my rural area my main motorist concern while riding a bike is people who don't slow down on gravel roads when they get close. When driving 40 to 50+ Mph on gravel roads rocks are flying everywhere. It's not to pleasant being pelted with them.

It's good to see your back to working on the bike again. That bolt sticking out on the front portion of the seat might be a bit of a problem. :eek:

I have to agree, there were still a number of usuable parts left on them.

I.m not a bike ID guru at all but here are my observations. The blue bike has what looks like a AMF sprocket and general frame style to me. The little Western Flyer has Murray style rear dropouts. I don't think either are valuable but a small number of people will pay up for those old school...

That is a real beaut. I am quite fond of diamond frame light weight bikes, especially the Schwinn models like yours.

I agree with you that those are beautiful frames. AMF actually had a number of good looking to cool frames through the years. I have one of the AMF Roadmaster Jet Pilots, always thought them and their frame were cool looking. Also have some no name AMF 24" wheeled girls bike with twin top tubes...

Glad to see it has landed safe and sound and that it has gone somewhere it will be taken care of and appreciated. The only sad part of the bikes story is that the original child might not have been able to enjoy the bike.

That is such a great looking bike.

Congrats on a great find for a super reasonable price! I really like that frame style with the twin top tubes. It looks like it might have room for wider tires even with the fenders. Are the tires that are on it 1.75 width? I'm sure you already noticed the front fender is on backwards.

I still have it and it has been problem free. Being a tall frame it makes a great ride for me.
