    Ahoy there!

    Welcome aboard mate!

    24" BMX'r

That's a 2001 Assault. I sold a 20" version of it recently, but it wasn't nearly as original. Excellent score, 24" cruisers are hard to find so cheap!

    What is this thing?????

Does it say "made in China" anywhere on the bike? It really looks more European to me, Hungary or Austria maybe? Maybe even India... I've seen people do cool things with Raleigh Twenty folders using BMX rims & lightweight parts, this would be a good candidate for that treatment.

    MONARK

The Monark is a beauty, it would easily sell for $150 in this area after some cleanup work. Don't pass up the ladies' bikes - statistically speaking, there are more women than men, and their money is just as green.

    '79-ish Raleigh Tourist

Be careful with the paraffin advice, if it came from a UK source, they're referring to kerosene. The more familiar meaning in the US is for canning wax, and it can also refer to mineral oil. All three of which would produce very different result on your brake pads  My money is on the...

    My Fixed Gear Bike Build

I like it. Especially that big honking front reflector! 8)

    Single Speed Road Bikes

Nice work! I had a similar Armstrong three-speed as a kid, and I recently helped a friend restore this one.

    heres my other beasts

I love the black one with the chrome lugs! We've seen photos of that one here before, right? By the way, are those Fluevogs?

    What is this thing?????

Looks like a compact/camping bike to me, the kind of thing you normally find strapped to the front bumper of a motor home, only non-folding. It looks like it would suit an adult with the seat post extended a bit more...

    Another Great Score

Sweet score! The PX10 is a fantastic bike.

    My First Tandem, a Columbia

I'd kill for a drum brake on my Columbia Twosome, it's pretty tricky to stop at cruising speed. On the other hand, the coaster brake allows you to carve some breathtaking power slides in loose terrain (especially for the stoker if you don't warn her in advance...) I added a modern fork with...

    Puch 3 speed.

Puch is an Austrian company and made some nice bikes, including the legendary Vent Noir. The name is usally associated with Styer or Austro-Daimler. Steyr-Daimler-Puch also made the amazing Pinzgauer 4x4 military vehicles. They also made loads of mediocre bike-boom-era 10-speeds. I'm not...

    Yard sale find...

That's a great find for $5, it would probably fetch $100-200 on craigslist in my area (after some standard clean up and re-lube work...)

    Pista

Good decision, I'm sure you'll have fun on it. A buddy of mine does around 20 miles daily on a Surly Steamroller and has said that he prefers it to his $3000+ carbon Look. For what it's worth, if you're patient you can probably find a good deal on a high end road bike to augment the Pista...

    Pista

By the way, that Volare is sweet! The price is a bit steep though...

    Pista

Maybe they're starting to see the limited practicality of fixies? Not that I think they're bad, but they're not for everyone... Here's another option Skoda - call all the local shops in your area and see if they have any used track bikes. I know of several in my area, and I've seen a few sweet...

    Spalding

Looks like a 24" on the front & a 26" on the rear, is that correct?

    K2 proflex 5000 PICS ADDED

Re: K2 proflex 5000 Crazy suspension! The cool thing about it is that most cheapo dep't store MTBs have similar styling, and most people wouldn't know that yours is really a high end bike. 8)

    Total Score!!! 6/13

The tan All-Pro is becoming a theme around here, I keep seeing them turn up on craiglist with ridiculous prices (around $300 IIRC.) I've also seen a few threads on other forums from people who thought they were somehow rare :? Nice scores Duke!

    another Schwinn 8/16

Re: Varsity Sweet score! I agree with TheDuke, that's a great color.
