That's a 2001 Assault. I sold a 20" version of it recently, but it wasn't nearly as original. Excellent score, 24" cruisers are hard to find so cheap!

Does it say "made in China" anywhere on the bike? It really looks more European to me, Hungary or Austria maybe? Maybe even India... I've seen people do cool things with Raleigh Twenty folders using BMX rims & lightweight parts, this would be a good candidate for that treatment.

The Monark is a beauty, it would easily sell for $150 in this area after some cleanup work. Don't pass up the ladies' bikes - statistically speaking, there are more women than men, and their money is just as green. :wink:

Be careful with the paraffin advice, if it came from a UK source, they're referring to kerosene. The more familiar meaning in the US is for canning wax, and it can also refer to mineral oil. All three of which would produce very different result on your brake pads :shock: My money is on the...

Looks like a compact/camping bike to me, the kind of thing you normally find strapped to the front bumper of a motor home, only non-folding. It looks like it would suit an adult with the seat post extended a bit more...

Good decision, I'm sure you'll have fun on it. A buddy of mine does around 20 miles daily on a Surly Steamroller and has said that he prefers it to his $3000+ carbon Look. For what it's worth, if you're patient you can probably find a good deal on a high end road bike to augment the Pista...

The tan All-Pro is becoming a theme around here, I keep seeing them turn up on craiglist with ridiculous prices (around $300 IIRC.) I've also seen a few threads on other forums from people who thought they were somehow rare :? Nice scores Duke!
