Top bike is definitely postwar mid to late 50's roadmaster. The drop outs appear to be forward facing.

The name plates are something installed by the factory workers, they are probably their nicknames and help differentiate the bikes because I know some workers called preference on some.

Easiest way to get about 150 or more out of that is to clean the chrome up, get some new tires for those rims, maybe a seat and some grips and a coat of basic paint. The problem is with custom bike is that when people are buying them, they want them done their own way so its much easier to take...

Re: Frame Build How about for the drop outs just docking the curved seat stays a bit and welding the drop outs in similar to the old cwc loop tails, it would look alot better then joining the two uneven tubes together then just welding some drops on the outside.
