1947 Columbia spit shine is DONE !!!

Holy wow. All of that paint's original? This is the kind of bike that makes me go "oh yeah." When I bought my wife's Firestone I was impressed that everything came apart like yours -- no drama and no rust. I've never experienced that before, and it's awesome. And if it were me, I'd keep the...

Ladies Firestone 500 Speed Cruiser -- OMG IT'S DONE!

So the wife and teenager put on "Dawn of the Dead," and I hate horror movies so I put in some time on the bike. Besides, it's a gorgeous Florida day. I finished the cap for the head tube...and I think I'll call it Version One. DSC03076 by sunliner500, on Flickr DSC03077 by sunliner500, on...

    noname 68 schwinn fatwheel build..

$25 '62 Schwinn? Geez. The only $25 bikes here are worth $10.

    Cruiser / Klunker Build

I really like the paint. Makes me think of the classic 1930's air racers.

Pflugerville Pflat Tracker - New Handlebars - Update 3/24

You were going to cut off the sides of the fender? That's my favorite part of the bike! :)

My 93 huffy build. Look at me

So your co-workers have no vision and can kiss it. This bike is sick, and it just keeps getting better.

trying to make daughters bike look better

Wow, that's a simple thing, but it really cleans it up nicely!

    Newsboy special

That's cool. I like the fat fenders and the Cadillac-tailfin chainguard.

    Columbia Mach 1 rehab

Neat bike -- there's a lot of muscle-bike builds on here right now. I've had good luck with soaking my rusty parts in vinegar for several days to clean 'em up, and it doesn't seem to discolor other pieces, like when I soaked my pedals. At least while the vinegar's clean. After a few batches...

    Ratted out Huffy

Interesting evolution of this bike. It's getting more cohesive, and high-tech with that disc brake.

    1948 Hiawatha makeover

Now that you said something, you can see the forks are bent in your second picture, but it's really not obvious.

    iverson bikes (George Barris)

That yellow bird frame in the comic is crazy! You got really close without cutting out the downtube -- I think you captured the feel of it.

    Early 1970s Iverson Charger 5Speed

Neat! I love how the shifter housing doubles as a cable guide. I get into those double-duty kind of designs, very form-follows-function.

Custom Dale Earnhardt Sr. Cruiser from SSC

Nice lookin' bike. But...the toe-shoes? Those'd drive me crazy! :D

41 DX bomber commuter "Monty" - finished pics added

Cool. If I lived closer to work I'd bicycle it. I have a 22-mile commute -- and a lot of mornings and evenings here in Tampa, traffic is b-a-r-e-l-y moving faster than I could pedal it. Some days I average 16mph for my drive. :headbang:

My Bob Brown and John Brain’s Illustration Project

This is some really neat stuff you're doing. My taste doesn't usually run to bolt-on/stick-on/tack-on customs -- but I love the historical recreations like this.

Ladies Firestone 500 Speed Cruiser -- OMG IT'S DONE!

I spent some time working on the Firestone this afternoon. It's a warm, 82-degree January day in Florida. :D I sanded down the wrinkled back rack with 80-grit, then some 100-grit, and a fine sanding block, then sprayed two coats of primer on it. Then, I wasn't happy with the fork. The darts...

    Pinkie Pie (little) girls cruiser

Is the name "Pinkie Pie" alluding to the character on "My Little Pony?" That *would* be an awesome theme for a little girl's bike...it'd make MY girls squeal, anyway.o_O Before you all ask...I have three girls. "My Little Pony" has been on my tv. A lot.
