Neat bike -- there's a lot of muscle-bike builds on here right now. I've had good luck with soaking my rusty parts in vinegar for several days to clean 'em up, and it doesn't seem to discolor other pieces, like when I soaked my pedals. At least while the vinegar's clean. After a few batches...

Now that you said something, you can see the forks are bent in your second picture, but it's really not obvious.

Cool. If I lived closer to work I'd bicycle it. I have a 22-mile commute -- and a lot of mornings and evenings here in Tampa, traffic is b-a-r-e-l-y moving faster than I could pedal it. Some days I average 16mph for my drive. :headbang:

This is some really neat stuff you're doing. My taste doesn't usually run to bolt-on/stick-on/tack-on customs -- but I love the historical recreations like this.

I spent some time working on the Firestone this afternoon. It's a warm, 82-degree January day in Florida. :D I sanded down the wrinkled back rack with 80-grit, then some 100-grit, and a fine sanding block, then sprayed two coats of primer on it. Then, I wasn't happy with the fork. The darts...
