you can buy a book at classicbicyclenews.com they have a book with all the info for those bikes. the hawthorne looks like a mid to late 40's hawthorne victory bike. here are some facts that might help as well. Do you have a favorite stripper?

i use jasco. you can get it at any hardware store. takes the paint off in minutes. just don't get on your skin. the paint will come off in sheets and what doesn't come off right away you can wipe it off with cardboard or any thing like that. so far thats the best stuff i've ran across.

has any one had luck with bondo on fenders?

my fenders are kind of beat. i'm not really trying to do a rat rod jod on this one. i was planing on hammering the dents out as best as i can and then bondo what i cant take out. my fenders are very solid and strong and i think it should work. but then again i don't want to waste time and money.

    1940's hawthorne

i think the forks are alittle bent but every thing clears and nothing rubs so i'm leaving them on till i find something better. and the paint was put on with a paint brush around 30 or 40 years ago. so monday when i get to work i'm stripping it down and spraying it with jasco and going from there.
