How do I Dismantle Disc Hubs?

Thanks for that. It seems that the hub is a regular rear derailleur hub with this thing where the sprocket would otherwise be

How do I Dismantle Disc Hubs?

Hey Guys, A few years back when I started building my main ride, I realised that my red rims wouldn't last red for too long, because I fitted the bike with derailleur gears and rim brakes. However the cost of adding disk brakes was prohibitive at the time, so I decided that I would just repaint...

    long fork chopper

Oops, I said the forks were three feet long. I meant to say two feet. The two pieces of yellow pipe were cut to 14 inches and then hammered in at either end to a depth of an inch, making them 27 inches from the axle to the bottom of the head tube (roughly 2 feet).

    Johnny Rockets (Kick Bike)

I got some grip tape the other day for a few bucks, draw some flames on it with an artline pen... .. cut out the flames, and stuck them onto the deck. I'm pretty happy with the results. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Johnny Rockets (Kick Bike)

Good point Dan Last night I did a paper mock up, Orange flames, leaving most of the board with visible woodgrain. The local skate shop sells a neon orange grip tape by the inch, I'll do the outline with an artline pen, and cut the outline with scissors. I'll mull over it for a few more days...

    Winter Burrito Build Off

On second thoughts, given the width of your tyre, put the front cranks in the normal way round, and run both chains done the same side. That way the jack shaft moves the chain further to one side.

    Winter Burrito Build Off

Hey Chainsaw, Sorry to hear about your health. I must admit that I have been at an advantage given that it is summer here at the moment, albeit it a cold, wet and windy one. I did notice your autorama bike elsewhere on this site, and took a squiz at fbn. All good stuff. Sinner4, Looking...

    Winter Burrito Build Off

Hey Outlaw, yeah it's gone pretty quite in here. I was expecting a bit of activity at the end of the Jan, but it seems not. It's been 5 months since the thread started, so with the exception of latecomers I think if people were gunna build they would have built by now. Nice looking bike...

    Winter Burrito Build Off

Hey all, I'm still beavering away on the bag lady. The frame is finished, and all the parts are acquired. I ended putting 12" ape hangers and taperred forks on her. I'll throw a coat of paint on it tonight between work and other stuff. Still a few weeks away but aiming for end of Jan. I'll see...

    Winter Burrito Build Off

It doesn't look like I'm gonna get the bike finished before new years. Two weeks after I sent my pics of my build I tried to shorten the bike a bit and made a mess of the frame. Two weekends ago I bought myself a gasless MIG welder, and rebuilt the frame. I've made a bit of progress on a few...

    Welding Equip.

OK. I went down to my local hardware store and found some brouchures from a manufacture that built MIG, arc and inverter welders. It seems that arc welders with adjustable current can weld steel 2mm thick and up, but the gasless MIG will weld from 1.5 mm and up. So I bought an Ozito 90 amp...

    Welding Equip.

Can anyone comment on MIG gassless welders versus arc welders with current control and thin rods? I built a buritto frame recently using an arc welder with 2.6mm rods, but only needed to weld onto the head tube, the bottom bracket and the seat tube. It worked well, but when I tried to shorten...

    another new guy

How are you mate, I was pleased to see your reference to your "skid kid" in your intro. When I was a kid (late 70's) the "skid kid" or "Odd Bod" was pretty popular, cooler than the dragster. The skid kid being a bike with a bigger wheel on the front than on the back. I'm wondering if the "Skid...
