Tapped the stem with 7/16" 14 threads .
Used a lipped rubber bushing on the bottom to sleeve the bolt into the center hole of the wheel.
Had to notch the bottom washer to clear the bar stem, then added some more washers to clear the rest of the bar stem .

That worked well.
Here's to hoping that rusty old stem nut never decides to loosen while you're riding. 🍺

The other thing I did was flip the chainring around to gain chain clearance from the tire. Worked like a champ.

Took it out for a short shakedown ride and it handled like a dream. I really thought the steering would be squirrely, but it wasn't at all. Good spacing between my hands. Steering was natural and comfortable.

The bike got the right anount of "nice bike" and "i like that" comments to indicate a success so far.

We got security cameras a few months back, so I used them to take this video for Queenfish.

I also used it to take a ride video

That build might have been my first year on RRB. I believe @bighit from Underground Velo was in that buildoff as well. You guys were doing crazy stuff with bikes that I had never seen before. Good times

Yeah, 2011 in BO6 was my rookie year building on RRB. Bighit built "The Bully" that year (which I ended up buying most of the frame and parts from him years later). The Twin Bar frame that he used ended up becoming my SteamRoller build in BO15.

Here is a link to the gallery for Build Off 6 - Killer inspiration to be found there.

As usual, I think your available options for photo background scenery give you an unfair advantage! 😅

But, also as usual, I like the direction and innovation. Carry on! 👍🏼
He could take a picture of doodoo in Savannah and it would look amazing. City so beautiful I named my oldest after it.

Needed another set of eyes on this build, so I swapped out the saddle.

Rode around for an hour or two. Stopped to talk to a cool artist bike friend. He loved the bike and wanted to ride it right away.

I even got him to take a video of me riding it and weaving between tourists with street musician playing in the background.

You can tell that I was having a blast.
