A little know theory - is all the people experimenting to create time machines have managed to instead create a ‘slow leak’ in future time, so before it happens to be the present (and measure able on current tech)it decreases the amount of future available.
So it exerts a subtle forward force that makes the present accelerate like a downwards hill.
While we are conscious of the passing of time we act like someone on a slope via muscle memory applying just enough brakes to keep things constant.

Create enough distractions like work etc and we gently accelerate into the future unaware.
Or it may just be we cannot fill the same present with too many things at once.
😉🙀

What mood is that?

Today I decided to go a different way with the base. Joined 2 halves with pop rivets and welded on 2 bars.
IMG_20230716_162656.jpg

It's a little wider and longer.
A rectangle now
IMG_20230716_162704.jpg

Welded a nut and bearing cap to the axle.
IMG_20230716_161112.jpg

Then made a axle. From old pipe.
IMG_20230716_161933.jpg

IMG_20230716_162229.jpg

The axle is short by 2cm.
But I found a old broom handle, that the first axle will fit inside.
This way I have extended the axle and I can bolt it on and off.

After spending some time cutting and welding.
I placed the strips and axle on.
But I'm not convinced.
I will hit the scrap pile again today.
Looks like we are heading for 3.0 just for the base part 2.

Decided to keep the base for now. Maybe down the road, I might upgrade it.
I cut up a old chair for the aluminium. Using the arm rests.using smaller pipe and rivets.

Section 2 of part 2. Repair the cracks and holes.
IMG_20230718_172214.jpg

I used liquid resin for art, but it should do the trick.

Plans today are to spray the primer and colour on part 2.the base and the top. And weld the frame up.
When the power comes back on that is .We will be hitting the 40'c from today for a week.

Primer on.
A light hand sand and then the colour.
IMG_20230721_145720.jpg
I only have a couple of days to spray. Then the wind picks up.

Color on black satin. Not really interested in perfection on this,as it will get bumped around and will need touch ups, and will be used when I decide to go M.I.A.(missing in adventure).

Managed to finish the rack. Using piping from a old folding chair and a old boat tent/canopy poles. Rivets and plastic parts from a clothing rack.

A full day on the frame today.
Welded a 1cm spacer onto the right side of the frame. Thought it would be better to have it firmly attached.
IMG_20230724_133437.jpg

Also added a bracket, so that the battery can sit on. And some extra tags, also one on the rear for the guard strut.

IMG_20230724_140256.jpg

A little bit more sanding first thing, primer in the morning. And will hopefully have first coat on in the evening tomorrow. Running out of time, but I will try and let the frame cure if I can .

I have noticed that the frame was never straight to begin with. 🤣 Cheap for you.😉

I've noticed in the heat down here, that the higher ceramic paints seem to cure harder/faster than the simpler paints and clears.

After 12-24 hours I usually put them out in the sun to harden and bring them in for a cool down a few times during the day. I don't have heat lamps which could help also.

Yes. It's like a outdoor oven here at the moment. So it bakes right on. I have 6 days left. So I should just scrape in, with test ride, and photos.

Primer on. Simple rattle can base. Fast .
IMG_20230725_160712.jpg

Also sprayed the colour on a satin black 3in1 paint with hardener. If gives off more glossy than satin. So I then rattle can a Matt over the top.
IMG_20230725_184758.jpg

In this heat it was almost touch dry in 15mins. It will sit hanging overnight. And be ready for the Matt varnish tomorrow. Will be a balmy 40'c tomorrow. So spray and bake.
IMG_20230725_184825.jpg

Next was to put this edging tape on.

IMG_20230725_160702.jpg

I also resprayed part 2 ,with Matt black, and it will also have a coat of varnish with hardener.

Some artwork went on.
