Once I started testing stuff, I finally pulled this item which was one of the first things I ever posted in my Kingfish Finds gallery way back in 2011.

I remember what a hassle it was to gut this Magic 8 Ball. It's sat in a container of odd stuff ever since.

My initial thoughts on it back then was a headlight or taillight shell. I've even thought it would make a cool hot rod monster exaggerated mega shifter knob.

So tonight I tested it as a taillight

Then a test in two positions as a headlight

I even had a chainlink fencepost cap in my stash. Something like this would provide a smooth nose to it. But this one is too big around.

I could even use something like the middle section of a juicer if I want it to look "fancy".

I have seen repro 59 Caddy' taillight lens for $10 or 15. I always thought they could be cut along the taper to fit different housings. There is one lens on Amazon for $12.08

Yeah, those would be great for a trailing end (like a taillight or such), but just like the pointy crystal, I'm not feeling to super pointy front for the bat tank.

I agree. Someday I hope to try to cut a 59 lens. Maybe put it in a teardrop headlight housing but put it in the back.

I had to search back for it, but @bean did a killer job on chopping one of those caddy lights and retapering the chrome pieces to come up with this beauty back in Build Off 6 on his Bareknuckle Brawler build.

It was fun. BO6 was my first time at this, so I have fond memories of those killer builds. That taillight was epic. @bean also did another one that was an old microphone on his "Atomic Punk" build in BO7.

Yes, it could be considered a gee gaw or doodaddery.

A vending machine capsule type nose-cone would surely get attention.

Who knows how the bat tank will turn out.
I saw this on FB the other day and thought it was super cool to take a roached tank and put a rat diorama inside of it.

Someone should do that with a rat, but staged like the old Maxwell Tape blown away ad.

Another thing that I tested last night as I was rumaging through random parts, was the speedo that I have from Gaskill's "Dead Little Dove" build.

I've tested this on a couple of other builds over the years, but it hasn't been quite right yet. We'll see if it makes the cut for this build. Here are the mockup pics.

I have mentioned before, that some of my early ideas on this build were about Flying Eyeballs and Rat Finks and other Kustom Kulture stuff. And along those lines, I just had to test the first idea I had when I thought of the baseball tank. I've had this Rat Fink antenna topper for a long time and love it. I even used it on Holeshot in BO13.

What if I make some custom slices out of the front of the bat tank to show off the rat fink? A Bat Fink Tank.
