Not at all. Decimals aren't proprietary to the metric system.

Decimals weren't invented with the metric system (even though it is sometimes called the decimal system). In the US, decimal inches have been accepted alongside fractional inches at least since the industrial age. Nothing metric about 1.5 inches at all .
I've been biting my tongue on the saddle finish for this very reason. Something needs to be done to bring it in line with those disks, but you don't need me to tell you whatYou know me. I don't do my finish work until everything else has been worked out
