I was about to post that I don't believe I will use the RatFink head anywhere, but I went out to the bike and tested one more spot that didn't look right, but then I held it just behind the tank, still no good. Then I slid it back to the seattube and it physically nestled right in. So, I rolled the bike out to the courtyard with a light and took some mockup pics. Worth looking at further in the morning daylight.

I like it better on the fork but the bike doesn't really need it now. I think that mirror fits the build and has functionality but makes the bars too busy. A smaller round mirror on a shorter stem with appropriate rust might work better. I really like that mirror though. Maybe it's ok after all. 🤪

Possibly, if you had 2. The symmetry is thrown (in a bad way) with one mirror, whereas the single asymmetric element of the shifter knob is a highlight. Weird how one element can tip the balance.

I think yes.

I'll take another look at the mirror tomorrow. There are certain angles that I like it, but then other angles I hate it. I'll bring it with me on a ride (haven't tested it on a ride yet).

Awesome Art Ride. The Forsyth park shadow shot is cool

It's always fun hunting and playing around with different backdrops or photo layouts.

I've had these old light for many years, and decided to try them on the fender the old fender brace holes. I love the shape of them with clear jewels in front and red jewels in back. I think they blend well and give me some rear bugeyes to match the front ones. I'll work out the mounting tomorrow since I need to remove the wheel anyway to add a spacer and mount the fender to the seatstay crossover.

Will they fit here (on both sides)?

Yes, I've tested them there and elsewhere on the skirts. In some ways that seems like a natural spot for them, but they really get lost in the mix down there (especially on the other side with the shifter housing). Elsewhere on the skirts, they just detract from it too much.

I picked up this STOP reflector from my friend Lee Pua when we where in Manila seven years ago.
Very cool. An interesting accessory with a memory attached is really good.
How does it look floating in the space between the seattube and the fender?
I dig it. But I'm a HotWheels nut.

That's a nice touch, I think they're cool.

Great build KF. You always turn out something kool!!

I decided against the cockpit speedo idea.

Tested my idea for making a mounting base for the floating HotWheels. Test is with folded paper, but I would make it with folded sheet metal.

I'll take the mirror on a test ride later today too.

Got the rusty fender spacer in and secured it better.

I kept the extra length on the chainguard in case I wanted to make some fins or darts or mount something. Nothing ever looked right to me. I decided to keep the nice natual flow of the curve of the skirts down to the extended drop outs. So I broke out the trusty rollaway bed spring steel and did my thing. I'll make a similar brace for the other side.

Left side done. Everything has a solid framework now.

Been awhile since I used wood for a build. Got some 1/2" dowel to attach the fender lights.

Nice assortment of add ons. They fit well with your build.

Thanks. I'm having fun!
Not quite Full-Blown Geegaw, but definitely a fun level off Doodadery! :D :D :D

I used some redneck engineering and came up with a much better and inconspicuous mounting method for my floating HotWheels idea. I am utilizing an existing large long mounting hole in the old fender. The standoff mounts are simple joist hanger wires that I use for a ton of stuff (all of my paint hangers have always been bent from these). I repurposed the coaster brake strap, that I had been using as my rear chainguard brace. It is now the backplate for this assemblage. I bent the wire so that it went through the outer holes, but I put a kink in between so that it could go around the fathead mounting screw. Then just some big washers and a lock nut an I'm done. I can easily bend the standoffs to the right position but they are stiff and strong.
Here is the simple mockup of the Floating HotWheels Sammich, but I will end up bending the tips for added contact with the 3M padded adhesive tape that everything will be sandwiched between
