Some bikes originally had knurled threads on the axles or "self-locking" nuts to hold the inner races in place. I put lock nuts on them if they don't stay in place. :|

Refinished the vinyl on the seat today. Used a half yard of faux croc vinyl, some foam and contact adhesive and this is the finished product.
