1952 Schwinn Excelsior Frame

Got this last night from a local bike guy... he parted out the bike and this is what was left so i grabbed it up cheap! pretty great patina going on! not sure of the plans yet but had to have it.

Nice! I would love to find a frame like that for a original/rat project. I have a 46 DX, but it is in nice shape and I don't want to rip it apart.

I'm surprised to see those graphics on a '52 cantilever frame. I thought that wasn't done until later in the 50's on the Streamliner. I learn something new here every day. 8) Gary

I have one with the feathering as well that still has it's Wasp decal. I think that is the scheme for the "unequipped" models.

This is a Schwinn Meteor... probably a lower end model originally.

The fenders on those bikes are nearly always solid rust or gone. I'm not big on fenders as a rule, but if I had 'em I'd probably run 'em. 8)
