1962 Monark El Camino girl's bicycle light assembly

I recently received a 1962 Monark El Camino girl's bicycle as a gift and I want to restore it. It is in near rideable condition now except for the headlight. Does anyone know how the light for this bike actually works? Do I need batteries? Does anyone have a clue where I can get one to replace the one that is on the bike if needed?

It has a very simple battery clip/light bulb circuit, with the same logic found in any traditional flashlight. Open it up. If all the parts are there, you'll understand. :idea:

Thank you for the information deorman!! I should be able to get it to work then after I clean off the contacts. Thank Heaven the previous owner did not leave the batteries in.
