Found this hidden on the Indianapolis CL. Sorry for the crappy pics. The chrome isnt as nice as I'd hoped, but cleaning up decent. Appears to be almost 100% original. Rear reflector missing but hanger still there. One handlegrip is strange to me. Does anyone know what it(the grip) use to be a part of?

I was thinking 3 speed shifter grip. Does the rear rim match the front? If not, could be that it was originally a 3 speed bike and at some point the rear wheel was swapped out.

I have only come across one of these shifters before ,on a 64 Sears three speed , I was trying to find another pic of the shifter itself but here's what I have. A before and after pic

Thanks Gold Street. I did wonder if it could have been a 3 speed. Not enough infor yet. Still cleaning on it as well. Yes, it has an original 36 spoke Huffy rear wheel. The front has the caliper and handbrake which appears original as well. The rear fender has an "L" bracket like most bikes do when they are multi speed. I'll look on the frame better for clip marks or where the guide wheel could have been located for the 3 speed cable. I know it doesnt mean that that particular grip is original to the bike though. Would be cool if it were a 64 3 speed though.
