My neighbor who is a college professor wanted a "curvy bike", so I took a beat up 64 Schwinn Starlet and made it a 6 speed cruiser, and she paid me 50 bucks. She loves it.

sweet bike. i did an 86' murray monterey cruiser the exact same way, except went with a 5speed freewheel cuz i stuck with the original front 46t chainring, chainguard and chain, just lengthened. fun, arn't they? opens up a whole new range for an old cruiser, especially if you live in hilly area like i do.

The forks were bent back, so I had them straightened, that was the only thing I didn't do myself. The handlegrips and seat were painted with acrylic paint I got from michaels, it works well on soft vinyl. The original seat off the starlet is now red and white and is on my 53 Schwinn. I'd been looking for a crashrail seat for years. All total, I probaly spent 12 hours, 2 hours at a time, with the starlet.

I hope she feeds you at least LOL ! Nice job on the bike.... Cool idea great use of used parts.
