It will be interesting to hear how loud it is compared to the little 2 cycle kits that everybody runs.

A guy always rides one around at the swap meets and it's like a weedeater running wide open. :13:

Since its a 4 stroke motor, it should sound like a
lawnmower or something. It has a built in muffler.
I guess you could take it off and change to a pipe.

I guess I'm a bit late to the party here but that bike is going to be a sloppy ride.
I've done a lot of building and riding motorized bicycles and if there's one thing that holds true is that a longer wheel base is safer and easier to ride because it has less chance of wobble at high speeds.

Also you will want a drum or disk brake up front; if doing a coaster in back add a second brake to the back if stopping power is not good enough (around my neck of the woods people like to brake check motorized bicycles).

Another good thing to remember is taller tires on a motorized bicycles tend to have a better ride.

And check your state laws regarding mopeds before getting too far in as some stated even have tire height, handlebar height regulations as well as top speed limits.

Well the good thing is , I won't be riding it. My brotherinlaw talked
me into building this so if it rides terrible, I really won't know. I told
him to buy a moped or something. He didn't listen though.

The bike kit ones tend to be really nice if thought out. I've owned mopeds too the only advantage they had was nice suspension without a lot of work.

If I get another moped it will be a Puch as they are about the best and have aftermarket upgrades.

If he has wobble at high speeds stretch the frame a bit it will help a lot.

He is 6'3 and weighs 260 pounds. With a 49cc motor , I don't think
there will be a worry of high speed problems. He is only 10 minutes
away from his work.

Lol I'm 6'1" 230 lbs and I was able to hit 42mph with my 50cc 2stroke. I geared it down after getting pulled over.

Not sure what a 4 cycle will do, but my scooter with a 110cc will
do about 40ish and I'm 260. It has the china Honda design motor.

4 cycles tend to be more torque so he should get up and going good.
It can always be tweaked if need be.

Nice scooter.

Thanks. They have a following like the Honda Ruckus. I just got stuck
building this because everybody thinks, you use to build bikes
that you can just throw a motor on one. I'm having to learn just like
everybody else. The bad part is I won't be riding it to see what needs
to be changed. He will be on his own when its done.

I know how that goes. I get people thinking I can work on anything.

On a side note I'd love to have that red bike lol. It would be cool to have a long cruiser that's not the "stretched" cruiser.

It was a stock Schwinn and I stretched it 7''. I was going to
use it for this build, but he will probably get it stolen riding it
to work, and I hated to loose a bike I had invested the time
to stretch. So he got a free Heavy Duti. lol

Lol don't blame you.

I need to get a welder and just stretch my own frames.

I appreciate it Chuck. You have been a prince getting me
the things I need. I owe you big time.
Well after two days of rain, I'm at a standstill. I want to strip the
paint off out of my shop. It really messes stuff up. Hopefully I will
get a sunny day and get it stripped. Plan on clamping it to my fence
or something to strip it with a side grinder and the wire cup.

Looks like the 4 stroke 3G Grubee kit. Getting it to line up and purr should be well within your grasp. They need a lil tweak here and there but are way more durable than the old roundhead 49cc 2 stroke kits.

He ordered it from Go Bike . They looked like they had the
good parts. He wanted to use a 2 cycle, but he doesn't have
the ability to fix a 2 cycle where it would be dependable. I hope
this one will work without having to change all the bolts and parts.
I will have my fingers crossed it will last a while. I have watched
10 youtube videos on the build and from here it looks pretty straight
forward. Mostly just put the parts on and make sure they are lined
up right.

Well its still raining, and I decided to go ahead and strip
the paint inside. It made a mess but oh well. So I got about
99% of it off. Still have the really hard to get to spots. Getting
closer.
