Well folks...here is my find for this weekend. A very sad looking Sears Screamer. Folks say it looks like a 68', so thats what I am running with. Lol.

It needs ALOT of work obviously. It has incorrect parts through out. But to me...those handlebars still being on the bike made it worth the price I paid. If those weren't there then I wouldn't have bought it.

Needs the correct sissy bar, seat, brake levers, brake caliper set up, pedals, shifter...probably more crap thats slipping my mind. Only parts I am really worried about are the brakes. Probably won't be able to afford anything else :( .

I'm going to do my best to save this bike. If you have anything you can let go of for a good price...let me know. Maybe we can work something out. Thanks.

The parts I am gonna try to save are the front fender, rear fender, chainguard, and the front fork suspension set up. As of this post, I have gotten about 99% of the red/orange...and whatever other colored paint off of the front fender, and the brace as well. The chrome has seen better days but it still shines. Its just dull.

What do you mean SAD? That Screamer looks new compared to mine. Good luck with your rebuild!

That's the correct shifter by the way.

Heartbreak of the decade: I missed out on an original 1969 Screamer 1, complete and unmolested, that was listed on local Craigslist for $75 bux. That was about a year and a half ago. Grrrr. Anyhow, as a kid, I had a yellow/green Screamer 2--the one with the cheater slick and mag wheel. The frame snapped at the drive-side dropout and was re-welded, then, the bearings eventually went in the mag. Parents trashed it at that point. So wish I had that bike today!

Didn't know that was original shifter. Always seen them with the shifters that had the black knob on top instead of what is on the bike now. :)

Progress has been slow. As mentioned (or I think I mentioned)....I'm working alot so progress will be VERY slow with this one. But a part a day is better than it sitting with no progress done at all.

Front fender...

That's the color mine is supposed to be too! Man my bike is missing quite a bit. Oh well. At least the handle bars are there. Thanks Tanks!
