Thanks for the support guys!

I’ve redesigned the shocks around SR Suntour fork springs. I’m waiting for delivery of a selection of spring hardnesses.

Here they are fitted to the rebuilt scissor joints. Now a total of 200mm travel, of which I’ll be using 140mm (with 80mm spring compression), because I’m starting out at 60mm, to have the bike long, low and slack

With a 60mm lower starting point, to have the bike long, low and slack

You got some blacksmith forearms 😅💪

I’m curious about the physics. Does adding another derailleur double the force required to shift to a larger cog? I would think yes. What type of shifters are you using? I’m thinking a ratcheting thumb type shifter would be best. But just a guess.

We're gonna need a ride video on this one, my Swedish friend! Shifting, while the suspension is working.

That's a lot of chain running through those pulleys....
Yep sure will. We’ll hope it all works haha 😆

At least it is likely to increase drivetrain wear.
When I engage/disengage the clutch on my mtb, which increases chain tension a lot, it doesn’t affect perceived force in fingers or legs very much. Or maybe you meant force in the chain?

On second thought I might be wrong. I was thinking it would take more force from your fingers to change gears. But now I don’t think so. Either way I’m interested to see if this works.

RatRod:ing has messed me up. When I see this toaster, I contemplate cutting it apart and use the louvers:tmi:View attachment 241524

Yes, EVERYTHING is a potential bike part now!
Love your fork work. The rear ene is turning out nice too.

Today I got delivery of a selection of springs 😃

The shocks were built in advance, while I was waiting for the springs. However, Suntour were unable to provide me the exact dimensions of the springs, so I built the shocks from what I had laying around. Unfortunately the inner rods are slightly too large for the springs to fit over, so I’ll have to make new, from 18x3mm steel, like the scissors.
Old vs new material:

I to strengthen the shock mounts to the frame, I made a yoke.

Bending the steel around this pipe for a smooth bend:
