I noticed the springer "stretch" as well. It would appear that while you eliminated the springer function, you captured the overall look very well!

The legs and struts on that type of springer move together, and will still spring.

My apologies on digging up an old thread, but it came up on Google images for a banana seat with a layback seatpost.



I'm thinking of adding one to this Cranbrook for my long legs to stretch out a bit more.
