Greeting to everyone,

Just Greg here, from the South Bay area of California, think San Jose, Sunnyvale.

I have to quantify myself as a "maker" since I usually end up thinking "why buy when you can build" then invest in a double fortune of tools.

I started working on bikes when I was 12 or so, worked for my grandfather ( a real live "junkman") fixing up klunkers, schwinn stingrays, cruisers, and some 10-speeds to sell off at the swap meet. Went through a lot of WD-40 as the old man thought it was a gift from the gods.

Now I do a little of everything, woodwork, welding (Oxy Acetylene, Stick, MIG, and TIG, sort of suck at all of them but keep trying) watch modding, and of course still tinkering with bikes.

My regular ride is a bobbed fendered Electra cruiser, my beloved wife rides a 47 Rollfast I resurrected, I also have a single speed road bike of various lineage, and a 84 or 85 Bob Jackson with a full compliment of Campagnolo.

Last but definitely not least is a Peek cycle frame, that I've been converting into a lowrider cruiser Rat. This has been a long build that includes: Wide rims respoked with heavy spokes, the frame cut and bottom bracket flipped to allow for more crank length, home paint job, and a few other mods on the docket.

anyway nice to join up with like minded builders and aficionados.

Welcome. Enjoy the forum.👍

Finally got around to taking some pictures.
My trusty Electra cruiser, and my wife's 47 Rollfast that I restored, then put down some of my best amatuer pinstriping.
It all about the fun of the build.

Enjoy, and Happy Holidays however you celebrate.

@Da Gas Man Thanks for the comment.

I sort of have this thing about striping, like an obsession once the paint and brushes come out .... everything is a canvas.

In no particular order I've striped: 2 bicycles, flames onto my old Toyota pick up, a 4" planer that I restored, a Rockwell lathe, couple of tool boxes, a sewing machine, and my Brodbeck knife grinder. (photo below) There are probably a few other things I cant remember ....

Once I load up the brush, and start pulling lines I get in my happy place and just tune out. On the rear fender of my wifes bike, I was humming along no plan or pattern just filling the space. Then I realized a couple more lines and I had a Tiki guy.

The joke with my friends and I is I could hang out my card and call it "Uncle Wiggly's Pinstriping".

yeah, I got tired of 2 wheel grinders, and cobbling together stands and what not for my belt sander.

Got it as a kit and dropped the extra cash on a VFD, being able to control the belt speed with no loss of torque is the thing dreams are made of (almost)

It's beyond useful for fabricating parts, notching tube or whatever else you can think of, and it can shape blades !!!!

Nice I help out at my friends shop in MV sometimes. I’ve done 70 on the trail over there where it runs by the new google complex. I’ve built a lot mostly motor builds, began by finding the limit of vintage schwinns… like this highly modded ‘80 cruiser that topped out at 93mph. Yeah if you ever need help with fabrication and maybe some machining, or EV tech feel free to hit me up!
