Always wanted one of these! it pedals like a stairstepper. the rear hub has two freewheels - one on each side. it has a six speed shifter. the gears are on the transbars themselves - havent got them to work yet and im kind of hesitant to try - i dont want to mess this thing up.

You get it working and I'd like to see a video of you going up a steep hill on it. I can't imagine what it would look like. Interesting find fosho!

Its a challenge to ride on flat ground! Bout nce you get up to speed its not so bad.

It was a design to "simplify the standard crank setup."You it obviously was a problem solver that created more problems than it solved.

I have the MTB version and I've seen a road version but not one like this.

well i couldn't stand it anymore!! i took the rear wheel apart becuase there was a huge dent in the rim that couldn't be removed and i got some new spokes and laced everything back together. now it doesn't ride like a bucking bronco! i also got the shifting to work today with some minor tweaking.

here you go folks. here is the alenax in action! when the camera pans to the left side you'll see the gears shifting by cliding up the transbars. enjoy!
