so you go to where ever you have your main bike empire, mine is in the garage, you are surrounded by bikes/parts/tools/other stuff and in my case a laptop hooked up to two monitors and a P.A amp with decent speakers that produce QUALITY bass/mid/tweeter sound that can handle some decent loud duf duf but I don't turn it on so no music thumping, I don't light an incense stick because it can get a bit of a stale damp smell (yer I like them so what you gona do 'bout it.....lol), get a brain block and an hour later walk out close the garage door and realize you ain't done jack?.....a million things to do and I do nothing really, I do graffiti art and love skateboards and combine them as art too but nothing just bum around doing squat, how does that happen, am I alone in this or do others have brain block.....? my name might as well be Brian " hello my name is Brian, Brian damage"

Not to worry Brian, I suspect that your condition is localized and temporary and not particularly damage related. Possibly recurrent, but temporary.
If the incense happens to not always be the only combustible emitting smoke in the garage, then the secondary fragrant combustible or imbibable may just be a contributing factor to be considered. This could also match the time frame that you have suggested that you have been affected. Thats what some guy said anyway.
Meantime, if your loved ones request that you wear a big bold name tag with contact information when you go outside, then they'd know you best and you should follow their advice.
If strangers call out to you as "Whangarei Wonderer' while you're out, then you may have an issue.
In closing, I'd add that If you should ever feel that a substantial amount of time has passed completely unaccounted for, then Id suggest readily getting yourself to the local Veterinary Clinic to be scanned for potential alien implanted chips. Routine stuff for Vets.
I'd wager that the Doctor gives your a clear Bill of Health Brian! Then he'll probably say something like 'You're all Good Boy'!
...but its the belly rubs and treats at the end that always make my day!

I find myself doing small easy fun stuff, instead of the long boring parts of my 3 year car project, which I’m letting drag into 4. (One is going on 10 years, but it’s on hiatus, collecting new rust.)

I still have rust to scrape and paint, but the rains this year have been much nicer than usual. It hasn’t dried up long enough for me to go grind and weld outdoors.

Instead, I am puttering around at the electronic bench, rewinding transformers and building a better battery charger.

I haven’t touched a bike, except to pump up some tires, and sometimes move them out if my way. But summer is nearly here and it will all change soon.

You didn't take orders from anyone and did whatever you felt like doing. Many people work all their lives to get there.

And on behalf of The Duece Velo Wanderers Sociaty for best Anecdotal Remedial Care acceptance speech, in conjuction with The Vet Treatments Sociaty International goes to that esteemed gentleman that's always fashionably Late for dinner, take it away El du shay

Isn't staring at all the parts in your shop for a half an hour mandatory after a garage safety meeting?
I heard that in some places around the world if you don't you could face a penalty of doing a free service check for that guy down the road that keeps abusing his bike, JRA syndrome.....

I regularly go to the garage to do nothing. I stand at my work bench, look at my lathe, look at my drill press. Pick up a tool and inspect it, put it away. Pick up a block of wood, sand a sharp edge smooth and drop it back in the burn pile. Open the dresser drawer that houses bike parts, look at them, shut the drawer. Look out the window, stare at the stuff hanging on my walls. It goes on and on...

I've wasted entire afternoons doing this. I guess it's therapeutic? It's like when you can't sleep...they say that even just laying down and resting is still very good for you, maybe the same logic applies to not doing work all of the time when we're in our work spaces.

I often go to the workshop with no agenda. Once the music starts and a little ‘incense’ burns, I find plenty to do. There are always parts to clean, tools to organize, and old bikes to stare at and dream. It’s my escape.
I have not wasted so much time since buying my ultrasonic cleaner, and all my small parts are nice and clean. I think it's time for my Sunday night safety meeting right about now.

Ultrasonic cleaner is on my wish list at the moment along with a parts washer but to be honest I could probably make one out of the junk I have laying around, here in NZ a small decent one is 4 to 5 hundred dollars, yer I ain't paying that

I wish @Endlesschain had never started this thread. Now I know I'm not alone in my time wasting and I'm much more at ease with it. As we say on the golf course "Paralysis by analysis"
I'm glad I could show you that you are not alone.......now just lay down on this comfy couch.......tell me how you feel about not being alone.....thank you, thank you I'm here all week
Seriously I'm glad I did this post although it sounds like an article in Men's health weekly if that even exists....I don't read magazines

My wife found me and yelled, "What have you been doing out here all this time?!"
I answered, "What? Are you kidding? I've been busy like you wouldn't believe."
"Yeah? Well, it doesn't look like it to me. C'mon and get something to eat."
But deep down, we all know what happened that day. And I have no regrets. :113:
