any ideas on building a good frame from scracth? going to attempt my first frame build

well I have reached the limits as to what I can do just by simply bolting parts on. and I have decided it is time to really get creative and show what I can do.
I want to build my own frame.
it was going to be for rrbbo10 but some things have come up and I will not be entering.
so the questions i have are as follows.
what kind of tubing should I use? what kind of welding would be the strongest? what kind of frame gusets should I use or should I make them?
I want to build a bicycle version of the iconic chopper known as freight train which will be long and very heavy so strength outweighs weight concerns.
I haven't decided the wheel size but i m gearing towards 26 inch.
any ideas on these questions?
