Anyone know how to emboss seat leather

Many many many years ago in high school, We did leather tooling using special shaped punches and a mallet.
I think an embossed pattern was probably a one piece tool that was pressed into the leather, so if your trying to replicate an original embossing... I think that would take some serious skill. You might check with local shoe repair places?

I have experience with leather tooling, and I am pretty sure the (embossing) you seek should have been done on the leather before you covered the seat.The procedure is really nothing more than a heavy pressure stamping. Usually this is done on the leather in its natural, or unfinished state. Then the staining/finishing is done to the piece before it is used to cover the seat frame.It could be done as it is now, depending on the thickness of the leather.But it would take the precision of a seasoned pro to pull it off! Unless I am mistaken, it would require hand tooling of the logo. It would almost be like a surgical procedure.If you are able to remove the cover, or have material to do another, that would be the easiest/best way to pursue it. :wink: Later & PEACE!!!
Thanks and most of the comments mirror what I've read. I was hoping there was a die made somewhere that could just be heated like a branding iron and stamp it onto the seat. Then it would be burned in and all is good. Maybe I can make one and sell the service!
